I think if we could afford more heli's + TANKS ! we would, but the army is to busy being ripped off my civvy contractors charging astronomical prices and Generals (9) flying about in Helicopters all day.

I just done BATUS, ( MM4) which apparently costs a million pound a day minus wages..... And to think of the 120 mike mike we spunked down range and all that LOA and LSA, the 14'000 litres of fuel we use a day.... what a complete waste of money !

Why was it a 'waste of money'? Is it preparing you for your job as a soldier? Perhaps it will allow you to perform better when you go onto future operations? Or are you happy to just tip up to a future operation with sod all in the way of training and just hope that you and and those around you, will be able to perform in a hostile environment where people like to throw hot jaggy metal at you? 14 cube of fuel is * all by the way. I hope that when you 'done' BATUS you pinned your ears back and listened , opened your eyeballs and saw and put your brain on recieve and learned, because someone, somewhere night just need you to utilise that 'waste of money' at the shrp end.
Preparing me for a job as a soldier ?... I already wear the uniform thanks.. No, it will not allow me to perform better on operations, as Last time i checked, there where no tanks in Afghan. When has anyone ever just tipped up for an operational tour ?. Certainly in the RTR we do up to 6 months of dedicated pre deployment training prior. I did "pin my ears back and listen" and unsurprisingly it was the same as every other Medman and Exercise i have ever done !

My point in the original post was not that training is a waste of money, a Tank Squadron deploying to BATUS this year is however. Didn't the government try take 20 odd million from the TA ?... 14'000 litres of fuel a day is fcuk all eh ?

Does typing it out as 120 mike mike make you look cool?

Or would 120mm be fine in text format?

Or are you just a spunkgullet who is having a whine about having to "do BATUS". You utter penis-sniffer.

Fuck off!!! it makes him well ally much like Pte 'donkey fucker' Smythe who after advancing the furthest of all British troops in the initial stages of the Somme in WW1 (8 feet), remarked that he wouldn't have got as far as he did "if it hadn't been for my trusty Lee Enfield's ability to chuck .303 India November Charlie Echoe out to a distance of 1000 yankee alpha romeo delta sierra"

Smythe was even more ally because he was using the phonetic alpahabet as adopted by NATO which hadn't even been invented yet! Ally fucker!

7 episodes of Generation kill back to back yesterday will do that to you.

Who cares if i say "mike mike" also wtf is "ally" ?

Think your missing the point that the army/mod whoever it is is wasting money on stuff when it could be used with greater effect elsewhere !

So what you are saying is that because there are no tanks in afghan then the RTR should stop training until such a time as there are tanks in afghan? I know plenty of lads who wear uniform- doesn't necassarily mean they are the finished article though, does it? Funnily enough, the government didn't try to take £20M off the TA. It was offered up as saving by a serving General.

And yes 14 cube of fuel is fuck all. 2 UST's worth or 700 jerricans if you like. Not even a drop in the ocean as far as fuel usage goes.

No, I would not vote for him, I don't think any amount of Chinook purchases could save his bacon now.

There is a difference between "saying" it, for example over radio, to typing it which requires 7 more keystrokes in a lame attempt to make yourself appear the most nailsiest steely-eyed warrior since Audie Murphy.

Back on thread; no, Gordon is a cnut, and I think there is more chance of me voting to outlaw wonking than voting for Labour.

    Me neither.

................and the aircraft that took you to Canadialand burnt more fuel than that in a single flight!
