Forgive me; but isn't the idea of a thread that you discuss the content. Or do you subscribe to the Politburo school of thought - you can have an opinion, as long as it agrees with mine.

Last time I looked, an RMP was a soldier, not a police officer. And I challenge you to find a thread that takes the piss out of an RMP killed in action. So I guess that, yes, on ARRSE, soldiers are regarded as special. Go onto a police forum and you will probably discover that police officers are treated specially. It's how the world works.

No one is attempting a POLITBURO course of thought: I wouldn't still be involved in discussion if I were.

I assumed it was about respect.

I accept my definition of respect may differ but reserve the right to judge accordingly

Just hold on there buddy. You may be misconstruing what I said. Are you saying I am not respectful of an RMP being KIA? Because if you are you are, you are WAY out of line. An RMP is a soldier first and foremost, and therefore would not attract the cheap jibes that a police RIP thread would, NAAFI or not. If you read my posts, I at no point act disrespectfully towards either soldiers or coppers. Having been a soldier and now a serving copper, don't even suggest it. I merely stated that if you post anything about a copper on whatever thread on ARRSE, somebody will have a cheap pop. I didn't say I agreed.

If you bothered to read my posts you would have discovered that I said that both were tragic. I just said I don't personally subscribe to RIP posts. That of course is my personal opinion if you'll allow me to have one.

I agree and apologise for any crap I posted. I never directly slag the deceased off though. Only the ones that have to make a big song and dance about it.

I also don't wish any hurt on the family of the PC who has been killed in a tragic accident, but please have a look at the appalingly irrelevant comment that I picked up on, and comment accordingly.

This is getting surreal. I agree with you that it is disrespectful, hence my comments certain people making cheap jibes, which are uncalled for, and just that; cheap. I was merely stating that if you post a RIP thread about a fallen civilian police officer on ARRSE, some numbnuts is going to have a jibe. I think we are agreeing to agree there :D

If I get slotted on a domestic tomorrow, please don't stand at my grave and weep. Send my missus a tenner. I would appreciate it more. That is of course my personal and sincerely held belief.
