BBC News channel when QT was about to start being recorded they showed the introductions live, he got booed. Then (probably around 2000) they showed the highlights reel and the snippet of Griffin being introduced it was clapping.

No, the participants are introduced 5 minutes before transmission - around 19:25. Over half an hour, by the way, after you posted your comment.
