Briton Facing execution in China
What do you think chaps.

8 kgs of heroin did not just drop out of the sky at the wrong moment.I'd crawl over fifteen miles of redhot broken glass to smell the exhaust fumes of the laundry van that took her knickers away.

Well he seems responsible enought to travel to China and mentally able to live and seek work over there. Just an excuse to me and they should throw the book at him. Death is a bit over the top tho

Re: Briton Facing execution in China
Strange case, his brother was on the radio some time last week. It turns out his bipolar disorder has come about since his incarceration.
Hence this quote I assume, no previous, no UK medical back up for his illness.Akmal Shaikh's family say he suffers from bipolar disorder

Re: Briton Facing execution in China
If you do the crime you must do the time, good on the Chinese for dealing with drug trafficing scum like him in the way they should do. Many countries in the far east deal with drug trafficing in a similar fashion, Laos, Vietnam, Singapore, Philippines all have the death sentence available.
The world will not miss this particular mong.

I think that shooting him would be wrong, they should just force him to swallow the heroin instead.
Excerpt from The Four Slappers of the Apocalypse.
And when I had opened the fourth beer, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and her that sat on him was the wife, and Hell followed with her......

Re: Briton Facing execution in China
What was wrong with the other thread about this? To be fair to the Chinese, they don't give a sh1t about public opinion or pressure from (in our case - weak) foreign Governments moaning at their Justice system. Say what you want, but nobody fcuks about in China. If they do, they get a collosal slap in the head or thrown in the nick. Or cut to pieces like the restive Muslims did in the North West when the Han rioted against them (and the riot police kick seven shades of sh1t out of both).
This geezer knew exactly what he was doing. Many countries go to great pains to point out they execute drug smugglers, murderers and terrorists. So when they do it, its not really a suprise is it?
On the other hand, Slack jaw, Millipede and the FCO have to jump through the requisite hoops to make it look like they give a sh1t (kind of like Afghanistan really.....), but they know full well the Chinese won't listen. And they can't protest too noisily as trade with China is worth far more than someone's life.

Re: Briton Facing execution in China
You would have to be mad to chance it theses days - or greedy! If you know the penalty and want to take the risk, there ya go!
On a lighter note the Chinese do have a sense of humour. They will bill his family for the round used to slot him!Every man has a right to utter what he thinks truth, and every other man has a right to knock him down for it. Martyrdom is the test.

Re: Briton Facing execution in China
I don't agree with the death penalty being used in cases like this. 20 years to life sounds more reasonable, and that is pretty much what he would face here in the U.S. Just my opinion.
