For those that reside in the Sheffield area, you might be interested to know that the little blighter is to attend the local courts at 10.00hrs on 22nd October.

Point taken BS and I do agree, binge drinking is not just a cult, its a religion. The threads dont't bore me, far from it. I sometimes find myself up at 4 in the morning on arrse and everythnig here fascinates me. I was just trying to say that its clear the world hates this individual, enraged from Edinburgh and pissed from Portchester don't really add much to the argument. People like yourself however do and I never meant to outrage feelings on a topic so acrimonious however I still think this has run its course. Short of a public hanging or the stocks, what else is there?
Honestly, I was spring-cleaning, in the nude, and fell backwards onto a jam- jar........Well sir, it's lucky for you the jar was liberally coated with KY otherwise it would have really hurt
Mummy......Why are you hands so soft and young looking?..........Cos I'm only 13 now fcuk off and eat yer Pot Noodle!
People may keep the thread running by posting to keep it on the front page at least until an outcome of the disciplinary action appears.
I expect that will happen this week as there's a lot of interest and the University would be keen to draw a line under it as far as they're concerned at least.
I know it sounds a bit odd to do that but it beats starting another thread and having to search to find whatever was said the first time around.
And there's the question of whether or not the Police will press charges against him. I would have thought that it would be a no-brainer for the CPS.

I'm afraid I'll not be able to attend, but i'll watch the local news with interest. I imagine it'll be busy enough and all the tv coverage will make him a bit of a celebrity amongst his peers.
I imagine most of these scruffy students are against any wars and they'll probably think he was making a stand when he p1ssed on the memorial.
A few weeks ago we unsuccessfully tried to resusc a 15 yo girl whose heart stopped after a bottle of vodka and I was the one who had to break it to her father. I've lost count of how many kids we patch up after alcohol realted injuries so I feel I'm probably more qualified than most to speak from experience.
Not really wanting to use the 15 year olds death as a stick to bang a drum with, but.
If those acting up whilst drunk of legal age were dealt with in a less liberal way than today, perhaps this would filter down to the younger generation.
The continental lock up till Sunday evening seems to work quite well, and of course magistrates giving out 2 week custodials on a Sunday morning (do not pass go, do not collect toothbrush from home), coupled with nice long, useful community service and fines to cover damages and inconvienence.
We could introduce Germany style rules, IIRC, Shandies (2.5%) can be bought by 14 year olds (if not younger), full beer can be bought by 16 year olds, but spirits are not available until 21.
PS, if he is expelled from Uni, apart from curtailing his frat style drinking lifestyle, what would it do to his future prospects?
My suggestion to the Magistrate;
Give this young man a legal order to visit, at his own expense, the cemeteries of Normandy, and to spend at least a week walking the beaches and battlefields. During this time he will be required to select one hundred names of at least five nationalities from the many known burials. Before being permitted to graduate he will write a 1000 word narrative of each soldier, their home district, their families, and their progress from school to their death in battle. If he is a bright as is claimed the research should not be too difficult.
Further he will be required to choose one grave of an "unknown", give this man his (Laings) name, and write up a narrative of what he, the unknown dead soldier, might have become had he survived to the present day.
( All this of course after he has served local community service and paid a large fine.)
This whole episode and the response from the english army community is total hypocracy.
You who have risked your life to defend your english government need to look at the decisions that this government have made in relation to the sale of the drug Alchol.
The sale of childrens drinks are allowed that contain alchol.
The allowing of mass consumption of alcohol on saturday nights in the cities by young people.
This student was a victim of alchol consumption and his acts were no worse whatsoever than the way serving soldiers behave in cities like aldershot.
I am sure that the soldiers who have died for you would be ashamed to see the way you are on a weekend night.
You are no better than he is and he is no worse than you

Is this some sort of wah?
1. It is England or English.
2. It is the British Army, not the English Army.
3. It is the British Government, not the English one (which doesn't actually exist anyway) that the British Army obeys.
4. Alcohol is on sale, yes. So? This prat can't not get completly tanked? does he not have the personal choice to say, actually I've had enough?
5. No, he probably hasn't behavd any better or any worse than lots of soldiers or other civvies. That doesn't mean he should get off. Soldier caught in his state often get punished.
6. It is highly likely those who have gone before, acted similar to us now.
That doesn't mean that soldiers have ever p1ssed on a memorial.
nor does it mean he, or anyone else, should be let off for this sort of display.
Are you some sort of moron?
What next?
Oh, the government allows cars and beer, and everyone else in the country has drunk driven, leave the guy alone, he only ran of a child.
