    Good Job K13...

It's nice isn't it to have minefield records that are accurate and have no 'missing' mine records from the same area.

I guess none of those areas are in peat...

    Looking forward to the pics.....

BAC was changed just before I started on Outstations, to EOC but then you are working for 'BACTEC' so 'EOCTEC' just wouldn't sound right would it!

Any signs of the old EOD bar at Lookout, in fact, any signs of lookout?!

Plenty of peat mate, especially at Sapper Hill and part of the minefield at Surf Bay!

It never changed to EOC in the commercial world on account of we clear "battle areas" not ranges.

EOD are at Hillside and have been for a number of years and Lookout is a lodge for itinerant workers ... its where are Zims are accomodated.

Years ago it was suggested that an apple a day kept the doctor away. But since all the doctors are now Muslim, I've found that a bacon sandwich works best.

I hate all this terrorist business. I used to love the days when you could look at an unattended bag on a train or bus and think to yourself; I’m having that.

It's been a while since I was there, (last time 16 years ago) Hillside or Lookout, I remember an attempt at the planting of a wood in front of one of the camps, one tree to represent every British Serviceman killed in the conflict, did they manage to grow?!

:D I've been calling it EOC for all the years I've been in the commercial world also Kev! a bad habit taken from 'Once BAC' Troop

How deep are the Zims finding the mines in the peaty areas?

Don't think your trees survived but there is the '82 memorial wood established close to the war memorial where there is a tree for every lost soul.

EOC? You are obvioulsy in contradiction of IMAS 09-11

Mines at Sapper Hill have been between surface and 6cm. At Surf Bay usually between 5cm and 13cm but we have found some at 20cm+ and three at surface (where the sand has drifted).

I don't mind being in contradiction of the odd terminology used in IMAS especially if UNMAS have used anything a certain A**y "I despise anyone who has ever been in the military and now works in Mine Action" S***h 'advises' them to amend

I've had enough SOP's accepted through the annual accreditation processes to have had my own 'terms' slip through the net :D

Those depths are interesting, hopefully many of the other areas we were talking about earlier will be able to be cleared, you could very well be down there for a considerable time

    Well done K13!

    A dangerous job but needed.

    Glad you are staying safe.
