The damage done to the very fabric of British society itself is now so deep, I don't think it can be saved now.

Although it may not fit in with the ideal that people will feel more confident to spend their money and as such bring us out of recession. But a long term goal of any future government should be to encourage people to save more money.

People are currently not encouraged to save for their own futures and this needs to be changed. One simple way is to increase Cash ISA limits to say, £6-8k per year. Short term this will take money out of circulation, but long term it will strengthen the countries economy as banks/building societies will be lending real money deposits and not money borrowed from the markets. Long term by rewarding savers it will lower the drain on the state finances.

We (the country) needs to get rid of the 'reward for failure' culture that has been firmly cemented into the economy over the last 12 years.

Nah, no Government will stand for THAT idea!

The basic plot of government these days seems to be the chavtastic classes fat, dumb and pissed sitting in front of their 50" plasma tellys watching X Factor.

Stop giving "foreign aid" and remain in the EU in the same capacity as Switzerland (I read an article on here several months ago about how their system works but can't find it..........bugger).

I agree with the immigration policy stated earlier in this thread (10 year rule etc....) and seal our borders.

Enforce Christian values in this country, you are free to worship in whichever religion you wish but the laws will be Christian based.

Remove all PC crap, lets call a spade a spade.

Total reform of Judicial system, social services, benefits and all Government departments.

Thanks for that, I haven't had such a good laugh in ages.

He'll do what every politician ever does - milk the nation for the benefit of his supporters and call it 'fiscal probity'. Democracy doesn't bring accountability in spending, it turns it into clique-based bribery.
We need people who look to the stars, holding the nation and the world in their hearts but at the same time we need down-to-earth people who can do serious and trying work.

In a definite sense, a country's power and prestige isn't only a reflection of its economic power but also a reflection of its people's quality and morality. Moreover, I think the latter is actually more important in the long-term.

Democracy?Or any form of government in general? As the great man said himself "democracy is the least worst form of government".

Yes,by definition the guys behind this are to be looked at with a squint, being politico's,but direct democracy provides more accountability and checks and balances than the hopeless swamp of statism we are currently subjected too.I still like the idea of deliberative democracy as well, any port in a storm....

3.Scrap benefits for young people with children, Make their families look after them.

4.Make absent parents pay for their children, Making sure the parent who pays for the child will have access to them.

5.Stop paying for !00% care for elderly people and make their families look after them

6.Give government and councilors etc a basic wage and no expenses and cut all the department s by half .

7.Give g.p. Only a minimum wage and not the massive wage they are earning.

8.Stop teachers going on the sick all the time unless it is serious because you have to pay for extra supply teachers all the time.

11.Make everyone who is on benefits because they can’t find a job do work in the community to help the people in the community who are less fortunate than themselves or join the armed forces.

12.Make all the elderly people help the young children, teaching them respect etc.

13.Make people who have minor health problems go on courses and to the gym to get themselves fit so that they can be fit and healthy to return to work.

15.Only give help and support to british students and not all other european /international students .

16.Stop handing out full British passports to anyone who only want to come and live in the u.k. To have free health care, education and benefits and don’t want to support and fit in to our culture within the u.k.
