    Too true.
    I couldn't agree more.

Photographs like this should not be shown without the parents / NOK consent, take the photographs by all means but save them to publish after the war has ended.

How many sick Facebook gits (we all know the sites) will grab these pictures and make a mockery of the injured and KIA's.

I had not considered that--what an awful prospect.

Whilst most things that happen in combat are not nice families have traditionally been told (often a lie but done for the best reasons) that their loved ones died quickly and painlessly. Some of us know the truth but in the moments of despair that follow such a loss some little comfort can come from such a white lie. For this poor family no such comfort; instead the brutal truth. Those who think they do society a favour by showing such photos, you need to look long and hard at the mirror and consider your humanity. To me you are scum of the lowest kind, living off the pain and suffering of others.

Id agree with that, there are loads of groups on there slating our soldier and the US soldiers for whats happening, to be fair though its usually from some 14 year old EMO kids who have no idea about how hard life can be, no solace to the relatives though is it :(

This makes me feel angry. That journalist would have likely weighed up the choices, publish or respect the soldier and his NOK, and his friends.
The A P apparently went with the choice.

That Marine was worth a hundred of them.

Its Peers Morgan stuff. The picture in fairness was taken of an injured marine, not a dead one. The editor has to sell papers and like Mr Morgan will do ANYTHING to create a story.

Journalists and their kind do not care about feelings, spitting image had them to a tee in the 80s, dirty pigs in a trough.

Not to put too fine a point on it BC as we agree in the end but it bears remembering also that the AP bit not only knew how the story sadly ended but also that the NOK opposed it when it made its decision after the fact. Your point might go more to the person taking the picture but the editors well knew the impact.

It may just be a very poor choice of words but it's never "good" to publish a young man wounded and dying and that photo doesn't show the worse of it in any percentage. If/when you ever have the misfortune to witness an event like that you'll realise the error of your post P-T. Its NEVER good.

That aside, the actions of AP are beyond any words and I feel for the family who have been re-victimised by the jackal-like morons of the press who will do anything to make money and a name for themselves. To show one of our lads sadly in his last moments of a short life is beyond belief.

I have no idea how they justify it. It cannot be excused for any reason, especially when its such a recent event.

    RIP lad.

Yep, I know, lower than a snakes testicles the lot of them. Never under estimate how low the press will stoop.

A while back now I know, but a member of royalty died, the press were exactly respectful of the situation, a starving fecking hyena would have shown more respect.

I am not a fan of the press and jouranlism.
