However it is necessary to have some idea of what the man is going through before you accuse him of having lost his bottle and being incompetent/unfit for purpose!
As you have said in the past. Its easy to say such things from the comfort of your armchair.
If BAe got the contract then we'd order a couple of Leopard Seals to deal with the penguins but we'd end up with a couple of Salmon 'fitted for but not with' teeth by 2038 at only £24bn.

Wrong. And I'd challenge you to spend even one day in his boots, in his Company and BG. I'd bet my bottom dollar... Faced with situation right now... You do the same.

I would not in any circumstances write an article of that ilk or any other anonymously for a newspaper. The Independent themselves introduce the article by saying it is unprecedented. It certainly is.

You say that now, what will you be saying in your next billet doux?
'The honesty and bravery of our fighting forces stands in stark contrast to the weasel words and dishonesty of their political masters'. Liam Fox Now with 'added irony'!

Well thats because from the comfort of your arm chair you can be the model soldier/officer. Do everything as per the pam and be the best at everything. Why not go the whole hog and give yourself a few medals you haven't earned. Thats is the right of an armchair warrior.
Unfortunately some have to make do with a reality which is both unpleasant and at times seemingly pointless. If this bloke needs to write Gansta Rap poems to a chinese comic in order to vent his stresses and get back to work then he should ask and I'll buy him a pen.

Sorry for this short reply.
But I conclude:
1.Clearly you've never been there or have had a fellow soldier die in front of, especially an avoidable death.
2. You're a f'ing REMF (sorry to the majority good REMFs who do a sound job!)
further debate with you on this is a waste of time.
And Sir even if you are serving General... I'd happily tell you to your face... To go swivel.

Fully agree Fugly... In no way meant any disrespect to the 99.9% who are working for each other... There's alway one who thinks he is more important than the mission.... And he's generally doing it from the comfort of being more than 5000miles away from the frontline....

duffdork...here is some advice: "Quit while you are ahead." Admit it has been more than a decade since you last wore a uniform...you are out of touch. Ask the nice nursing sister for a sleeping aid...be a good lad...
