" In the event of the 200th British soldier that is killed in Afghanistan, Stop the War will call on all its local groups across the country to organise street protests. The current death toll stands at 188 and is rising at an average of about one per day. Stop the War will also be announcing shortly details of a major national demonstration in November to mark the anniversary of the Afghanistan invasion in 2001. "

A serving British soldier who is refusing to return to Afghanistan will deliver a letter to the Prime Minister protesting against the conflict.

L/Cpl Joe Glenton of the Royal Logistics Corps will say in his letter that the commitment and dedication of British troops was being "misused".

The Yorkshire soldier is facing a preliminary court martial after saying he would not return to Afghanistan.

L/Cpl Glenton will deliver the letter to 10 Downing Street on Thursday.
    More here:
While the l/cpl delivers the letter can he also ask if our troops can have the vital equipment they need , Also will the government stop wasting tax payers money taking injured soldiers to court to get their compensation reduced.they deserve every amount they receive to live as normally as possible and if they suffer complications because of their injuries they should also receive extra money to compensate this.

Our soldiers have fought for queen and country and they need all the help and support to help them.

Agreed, and that means every soldier should be prepared to carry out his duties whether he agrees with it or not.

Trying to use the suffering of those who have been injured in order to legitimaise his war dodging is about as low as you can get.

There are other ways of raising this issue.

Has anyone given a thought for the soldier who will now have to replace this clown?

Sorry but you failed to understand we were not legitimatise his war dodging,we thought that injured soldiers and vital equipment is more important but for some reason this government don't give a shit about our troops only themselves.

What I fail to understand is how a man who signed the dotted line, took the oath and took his pay all these years suddenly decides he's on a moral crusade?

If he found Afg unpalatable then he should have handed in his bedding after his last tour and THEN made his protest.

As it is, someone has to replace him and put themselves at risk because this "soldier" thinks the rules don't apply to him.

He is not being noble, he is letting someone else go in his stead and that is pretty unforgivable in my book.

In fairness, I've always thought - right up until this moment - that there was an S in there. Then again, they could have wiki'd it.

The bloke sounds like a cnut. He should have signed off or bottled it quietly and taken the colly/discharge route. Quite what he hopes to achieve by gobbing off about it I've no idea.

As I mentioned, he's merely trying to legitimise his behaviour by hiding behind a noble cause. Trying to justify his own actions.
