Part thinks I can't comment as I've left now.

The other part, (the part that's done five tours including the south of Afghan), thinks 'where can I get a good lenght of rope for this guy'

You sign up, you take the money and serve Queen and country. You don't want to serve, complete the appropriate form (AF B6848 in my days) and get out in 1 year.

The bit from Steptoe above about "I was just following orders didn't work at Nuremburg" ain't the same thing. The guys on trial there were policy makers, people followed their orders and that's why most of them swung.

This bloke's not a policy maker, neither has he moral courage. He's a tosser, pure and simple. Colchester gets better after the first 18 months I hear.

Saying that he is refusing to soldier is a bit silly though. But his publicity is no different to the CGS etc al, its is funny that the army has been pushed so far in to a corner that people are doing what I thought would be unthinkable only a few years ago.
Fuck off you tube, he wasn't being asked to slot jews in the back of the head was he?
If he didn't like it he could of signed off on his first tour (no need to have waited until he got back) The army is not being pushed that far that people are turning into fannies and running away when they are ask to do what they are paid for, just a few knob individuals who joined the army to go skiing.
I've been to KAF twice apart from the occasional rocket attack most loggies there get it easy, I'd love to know just what fighting he did against the Afghans.
I'm sure the bloke who had to take dickheads place admired his moral courage.

Sadly, you are right and the spineless little weasle will gain support from the tree-hugging, do-gooding cretins; either because they believe the drivel he has been told (by someone cleverer than himself) to spout or (more likely) because they never miss an opportunity to whinge about the 'establishment'. I hope he gets the most severe penalty possible but I doubt it.

So if I read things right, he had two years of knowledge that he was going back out before now?

That gets trotted out from time to time, but is a misrepresentation of the Nuremberg Principles.

Words simply cannot express the anger which I feel over this! In my opinion there is no punishment severe enough for this sort of behaviour!

    Selfless commitment? NONE
    Respect for others? NONE
    Loyalty? DEFINATELY NONE
    Integrity? NONE
    Discipline? NONE
    Courage? NO COMMENT NECESSARY!

Naive as it sounds, I thought most people signed up to serve queen and country not to back up US foreign policy.
I wouldn't refuse to solider no would any one I know, but some of you must a thought about wtf we are doing there?

It is the fact that we carry on, cheerfully under manned and under funded that allow Gordie to just assume he can carry on as per norm with out any complaint as more die needlessly.

I didnt read that he had 2 years notice to sign off though.
