    Darth Vader v SNP

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8120695.stm

    I rather liked his quote

"It is one army but it is also, when you look at it, a collection of warlike tribes who come together for common purpose," he said of the regiments.

So could a separate Scottish Army undertake international commitments e.g. Afghanistan, or just be a glorified 'national treasure' to cheer every 27th June?

Bring back 15 Para for a start!

Surely the rest of the Union needs Scotland when it comes to Defence - otherwise the Trident boats (and their replacements if we build them) would be either out of a home, or in Scottish hands

Hmm, I suspect they would mirror the type of deployments the Irish Army undertake. un tours and the such. Bear in mind you would need a Navy and Air Force I suspect a Defence Force type arrangement would be more workable.

If it did happen you would probably see a flow of recruits heading south for the rebranded English, Welsh , Cornish and Channel Islands Army, much the same as the Eire buoys head to the British army.

They would probably lay claim to any ships with a Scottish name, however ny my reckoning that would only give them,

    HMS Edinburgh (Type42)
    HMS Sutherland (Type23)
    HMS Argyll (Type23)
    HMS Campbelltown (Type22)

Oh and the river patrol vessel HMS Clyde

I'm sure there are a lot of people in Plymouth and Devonport just waiting for those jobs ....

And the Scots would have to fund their own unemployment benefit for those no longer working at Faslane.
And this you can see is the bolt. The purpose of this
Is to open the breech, as you see. We can slide it
Rapidly backwards and forwards: we call this
Easing the spring. And rapidly backwards and forwards
The early bees are assaulting and fumbling the flowers:
They call it easing the Spring.
They call it easing the Spring: it is perfectly easy
If you have any strength in your thumb: like the bolt,
And the breech, and the cocking-piece, and the point of balance,
Which in our case we have not got; and the almond-blossom
Silent in all of the gardens and the bees going backwards and forwards,
For today we have naming of parts.

remember the SNP said the scottish army would specialise in peace keeping.
    obviously not met any argyls
peace through giving anybody any other ideas a good kicking :D
On a Hot morning in cyprus I found the meaning of anger. Fortunataly I was comftably numb.
The RSM and various other NCO's seemed very agitated.
maybe they should look into counselling?
