How fukcing stupid you haven't even got a football teamWe should remember the tremendous contribution of the Queen Mother to the war effort:
As the BBC pointed out, she 'bravely remained in London beside her husband' during the war.
This contrasts sharply with the actions of my grandfather who, on the declaration of war immediately left his wife and children and pissed off, first to France, then North Africa, Italy, France (again) and finally Germany.
The shame will always be with us.

Re: IRA supporters disrupt Armed Forces Day Parade in Glasgow
No need to be embarrased Jock. Glasgow and the West Coast has always had these PIRA supporting muthafukas amongst them, that's just the way it is in that neck of the woods. Many a squaddie has had a good kicking or even been murdered just for being a "Brit".
There's a few over here in Edinburgh, but not on the same scale - thank f uck.
The James Connoly march tends to bring them out of the wood work though. A lot of the Hibs supporters think he was a hero, but as I always say - He was shot by a British Army Firing squad and he hasn't had a pardon, that makes him officially a traitor - just like the 7/7 c unts!"I would rather see Dave Lee Travis play Macbeth"

pack of knuts ... either the scum or the polis.
police in Glasgow hardly leave the safety of their stations ... unless its to blat around in their cars. A new chief constable came in with an attitude of 'encouraging' foot patrols to reassure the little people - lasted a week then it was back to hiding in the station.
as for the scum ... where is the mob of tooled up, p!ssed rangers fans when you need them? The irregular verb TO LEAK - I give confidential briefings, you leak, he's being charged under section 2A of the Official Secrets Act.

Then who is I see, walking around during the day and night then. With all the freedom of speech, groveling up to every wannabe group Strathy's finest can always rely on Jan Hamilton to secure Maryhill now. In saying that the last time George Square had a bit of scuffle Tanks were stationed at the cattle market.Well, the prodigal brother. When did you get back? Ain't seen you since the surrender. Come to think of it, I didn't see you at the surrender.
I don't believe in surrenders. Nope, I've still got my saber, Reverend. Didn't beat it into no plowshare, neither

Re: IRA supporters disrupt Armed Forces Day Parade in Glasgow
ISTR reading that a survey this week found that 3 out of 4 people no longer have any faith in the ability of police to protect them. Hardly surprising, with incidents like this.

Proper little chief constables pet, aren't we? Bet you slipped him a few shekels for that. I walk past Cranston Hill cop shop every day and I've seen a foot patrol twice this year.

Also disgusted at this. Hope those arrested are named and shamed.
It is disgusting from both sides of the fence because there was clearly those from the protestant and loyalist side there looking for some trouble as well.

I seen this item on reporting scotland, funnily enough the only footage shown of the protest were of individuals with a Union Flag in their midst?! Not like them to show a distorted view of the truth!

I noticed that as well; the only people shown were coppers and a load of blokes chanting: "No surrender!"

Where's the Gurks when you need them?
Even a single Gurkha would have seen them off!
Damn, I wished I had been there with my old SLR (wooden stock and all) and flak jacket.... ex Op Banner.
With my FRG (early "rubber bullet" gun, basically a 2 inch flare gun with a stock and a barrel extension.... remember them?)
A "snatch squad" would have sorted them out right quick.........Aw ra best

Typical one sided reporting. What do you expect though.

As for calls for the plod to be more heavy handed and put the fear back into them and clear the streets etc. The Bobbies need to know they are going to be back should they have to get hands on. Consider the press presence and the immediate public reaction to police using any force lately and you see the problem. In short senior bosses bottle it.
This still doesn't stop the individual plods locking up though. Something I am almost certain happened. Just not on the scale it should have.
