Its not all council terraces and the unemployed.

Makes my vote for UKIP a bit of a piss up against the wall.
    Why? Its PR....
Sadly its the UK's interpritation of PR.

THE PR bit is restricted to voting areas and not to uk wide, as is the norm with PR.

this reduces the chances of say the Greens who had a 50% increase in votes from getting the extra MEP's they should have.

And possible reduce the Ukip and Bnp?

British democrocy at its best. or british nazi'ism at its best.

shpelling. ask the the holliwood guy?
Yes your right but I am sure that UKIP got at least one the area which contains Barnsley ergo no wasted vote.

You have the right to vote for them, you have the right to not vote for them.

Unfortunately there's no "None Of The Above" option which would, I think, have won by a landslide this time out.
The above post is not intended as official communication from HMRC and in no way reflects the opinions of that organisation. In fact, it probably doesn't reflect the opinions of the poster and certainly won't have been properly thought through.

People eligible to vote in this country are permitted to vote, in secret, for whomsoever they wish. This quaint practice is called democracy. Democracy, the device that the 'Stalinist' government currently in charge has gnawed away at and attempted to destroy during the last twelve years.

I think this could go two ways. In the UK, we laugh at fascists and demagogues and that's a great strength. In Europe they take their fascism seriously so Griffin could be welcomed. My betting is that it'll go the other way though as the BNP are so dim that their putative colleagues in Europe will, at best, ignore them. With a bit of luck, they'll make such a hash of it that they'll be laughed at back home too. Here's hoping.

    PS. Glennys Kinnock. WTF?

How can a 'Stalinist' party be so far right that they occupy the political position the Tory party wants or are all political parties 'Stalinist' if 'New Labour' were Communists there would be no other parties and no democracy, as has been displayed tonight by the right we all have to elect fools and extremists.
what choice do we really have, a pair of 'fake' parties a bunch of wishy washies or a bunch of fascists, what choice is that no wonder no-one votes anymore.
They also serve, who stand and wait......

What - is not voting for Gordon Brown mob now fascism? Mandelson is a cnut = homophobia, Vaz is a thieving, manipulative cnut = racism, Jacqui Smith is a thieving cnut = sexism.

You love -isms and phobias don't you? One word to describe a p1ss poor thought process.

Edited once to add - which is why the results are what they are. Blair and Broon denying that there ARE problems doesn't make them go away or not exist - they do exist and they are affecting people.

How are the BNP's policies on immigration any more racist than Labours "Positive action" (discrimination) directive's after all Harperson came out and said she wants to see wimmin and minorities get preference for high powered jobs. Thats just in the private sector we all know this has been going on for ages in any public sector jobs applications are particularly welcomed from minorites as the advertisement says.

I do find the hysteria surrounding them amusing they are a legal party wether you like it or not but they are not going to create a thousand year Reich
All together now Die Fahne hoch! Die Reihen fest geschlossen! :P
Father Dougal: God Ted, I've heard about those cults. Everyone dressing in black and saying our Lord's going to come back and judge us all.
Father Ted: No...no Dougal, that's us. That's Catholicism you're talking about there

people are only voting bmp because labour fooked up. its only a small section of the bmp who are racist and thats the combat 18 element of it.....and its just a "small section" of muslims that are terrorists but i know who labour would rather have in our country...the latter, they have proved that in ther last 10 years, people are sick of not being able to hold ther head high in ther own country because they are unemployed and over powered by minorities. even though the bmp have some good ideas they are a shoddy unorganized and undisciplined outfit, and prob wont do well so the jihad lovers have nothing to worry about

Re: BNP Win Their First EU Seat

The BNP perfectly fulfils the feckless urge to blame others for their own inertia. I weigh 40 stone and sit all day watching daytime TV whilst claiming obscene amounts of benefit but it is an immigrant's fault that I haven't got Alan Sugar's job (I wouldn't go to work for anything less). I sometimes get off my settee and waddle down to the corner store to get more chocolate to feed my face and ignore the fact it's only open at 7 pm because Mr Patel and his family are willing to work outside of 9-5. I also ignore the fact that I wouldn't be able to claim the huge amount of benefit that I do if we didn't have thousands of people like Mr Patel paying their taxes into the Treasury.
If you took away everyone who might be considered an immigrant (Australians, Kiwis, Irish, Americans, Canadians, Europeans, Africans and Asians) then we wouldn't have enough tax paying working individuals to fund the benefit system and there would be far fewer jobs because there would be far fewer consumers. The economy of Aldershot took a massive hit when the Army pulled out, can you imagine what the UK would be like if everyone who may not be pure British (whatever that is) was evicted?
So why then vote for a party who would work towards making that happen?
