Re: Arrse Euro Election Opinion Poll
The ballot box at ours was so stuffed with voting slips that the bloke in charge had to keep picking it up to try and shake the slips down inside. And this was at 4.30 pm this afternoon.

Re: Arrse Euro Election Opinion Poll
When I voted, at 8.00pm, I had to force my ballot paper into the box, it was so full. And yet, it's being purported that there was an extremely low turnout.

Apart from the word "Ave" and making all roads straight, i believe togas are one of their campaign strong-points in Portsmouth area as it gives the Sailors something to look at.

Allowing for the Postal Vote I dare say that many still won't have bothered. Amazing really, all these people chunter on about the shite state of the country and then when they have a chance, albeit a small chance, to voice their opinion most of them can't be arrsed.

Having been on the outside for a while now I now fully understand just how much the Army has to offer to anyone that has a brain. Most of the blue-collar workers that I come across on a daily basis are as thick as mince and don't have much brain capacity to be able to compute anything above the bare minimum that is required in their mundane liitle jobs. The widespread lack of common sense is truly shocking, even more so when some of the people tell you what their jobs are.
But the scariest thing about the GP is that it's these same people that have the power to vote.

Re: Arrse Euro Election Opinion Poll
From what I understand, hardline Labour areas are getting a low turnout, the muppets won't vote for anybody else but apparently are reluctant to vote Labour so aren't voting at all

Why don't they just go and spoil their paper. At least when the figures are totted up they can see just how many people have objected to the whole thing by using their vote to protest.

True - not turning out is what leads to all sorts of pundits banging on about voter apathy, whereas I've never known so many people up in arms about domestic politics. There is no apathy that I can spot - maybe it's different in other parts of the country, but everyone I meet at the moment has some choice words about the state of affairs.

Re: Arrse Euro Election Opinion Poll
Does anyone remember that Dutch fellow who tried to get into Britain to show that anti islam film, but wasn't let in. He's the leader (or Fuhrer, whatever you prefer) of Hollands equivalent to the BNP.
Well they came second in the EU elections, and they didn't even stand in the last one, from no votes to second. Bumpy times ahead in the European Parliament. And after Sunday there will be even more anti-EU parties. The beginning of the end of the EU?

Re: Arrse Euro Election Opinion Poll
Channel 4 has just extrapolated the council results into a mythical General Election. They would have gained 22 seats. Does this bode well for the actual GE given that the recessions tide might have turned by then?

Re: Arrse Euro Election Opinion Poll
Sorry, maybe I'm being dim but that post isn't clear to me - "they" being Labour and "gained" being 22 added to their current seat count or 22 being their seat count in total?
