So are you telling us your support for the EU is based upon the commercial gain you personally get through it Alsacien? I've no gripe with that but it is relevant to your argument.
Well I moved my company registered address from UK to Europe to work in Euros. With contracts without big margins I could lose everything over a typical 2-3 year project with exchange rate changes. Others commercial reasons too, but a business decision which turned out to be a very good one. I do not support the EU and I am not anti EU, I see some good and some bad, I am not blindly for or against. EU procurement rules have been good for me, Euro stability and strength good for me - employment regulation less so.
    Thankyou for that Alsacien.
As I have said in pevious posts,as a trading agreement the EEC was/is a very useful institution. What I can not and will not accept is law and policy being dictated to the UK by foreigners.

Well I probably feel less strongly as I am a foreigner in somebody elses country 80% of the time. If UK was some Utopia with brilliant laws, fantastic economy, low crime etc I would feel different, but the stuff UK gov does on its own does not impress me......

UK law and policy took backseat to Washington and Riyadh diktats many moons ago. I'm not sure where Brussels fits into your argument.

Doesn't impress me much either for that matter.
However as much as 80% of our law is largely dictated by the EU now. Most of that law I believe to be misplaced and I see no hope of getting rid of it unless we go back to standing alone. Just as we have done for centuries.
All the EU achieves for Britain now is to burden us with legislation and policy that is unwanted and in a large part misguided. Whilst tied to the EU (disregarding for the moment the undemocratic nature os us being attatched to it) there is no hope of correcting any of that.
As it stands the EU costs us a fortune for very little in return

In short, I can see no way of cleaning up this country and its politics without withdrawing from the EU. The only result of staying in (other than a trading organisation) is more expense, more bureaucracy and even more loss of control of our own destiny.

Is that right? I think you are mistaken but you are entitled to your opinion.
What laws have the Americans or Saudi's imposed on us?
