Discuss Ronan O'Gara meets the Queen. at the Current Affairs, News and Analysis forum within the The Army Rumour Service website; Frankly, it's disrespectful when meeting the Head of State of any Country as an invited ...
"Listen in c*nt-breath. I may not be your queen, but unless you want to go the way of Diana, stop playing with your balls and straighten the f*ck up."
Even his skipper, the Irish team captain, Brian O'Driscol's bubbled that he's being an overt tvvat here.
Speaking as someone who's folks are from 'The Bog', there's no need for it nowadays - just makes Ireland look like the backward-looking backwater it screams to get away from being perceived as.
HMQ isn't Cromwell, O'Gara, ya soft sod. Grow up.
Personally, I think there are 3 reasons for this:-
1. As previously stated, he is being disrespectful. Irrispective of country of origin, you shoukld always pay respect to foreign leaders (except Mugabe....oh and Idi Amin when he was around. Ok and maybe Gordon Brown).
2. He may be a little turned on having previously seen a picture of HM when she was younger (come on she was a babe!) and trying to hide his teenage bump by putting his hands in his pockets.
3. Taking number 2 into account and looking at the look on BODs face, he may have gone one step further and banged on out there and then.

As usual, it's worth getting the whole story. Ronan O'Gara did shake hands with HM, and then in the informal bit put them back in his pockets. It’s clear that Ronan O’Gara shook hands with the Queen. The “hands in pockets” photos that implied he had refused to shake hands were completely misleading. By that stage the Queen had met all the members of the team and it’s obvious she was having an informal chat with the player when the photo was taken. She also seemed engaged with all the players and seemed in very good humour.
UTV has it on video on the link below, media storm in a media tea cup!
SE30A is right, he did shake the Queen's hand and had a chat (albeit a brief one) with her. He even said that her two grandsons were good lads as he had met them during a Lion's tour.
It was a lucky photo, nothing more, nothing less. Relax!
It's made worse by the fact that Irish rugby has never really been marred by the sectarian divide. Why would you be such a c*** and do that? Ulster protestants have played alongside Catholics for the whole history of irish rugby with no upset.
Hence the reason for "Irelands Call" as there are Ulstermen on the team. Both "Irelands Call" and the National Anthem are played at home matches, only "Irelands Call" is played at away matches.
