    STILTS
All ways look on the bright side of life!!!
The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." The English have not been "A Bit Cros...s" since the blitz in 1940

    RIP.

    Condolances to family and friends.
Later on, she told me the whole story.

About the day she left her village. About the old man, about Cristu and Vera.

About the thing her father said.

    About her baby.

When she was done, I knew a lot of men would have to die.

Soldier from 1 RIFLES killed in Afghanistan
    A Military Operations news article

    17 Feb 09

It is with great sadness that the Ministry of Defence must announce the death of a soldier from 1st Battalion The Rifles on 16 February 2009.
    Ministry of Defence

He died from wounds sustained as a result of enemy fire during a joint UK and Afghan National Army foot patrol to dominate ground in the district of Nawa, south of Lashkar Gah, Helmand province.

Spokesperson for Task Force Helmand, Commander Paula Rowe, said:

"Task Force Helmand mourns the loss of this brave soldier and we offer our thoughts and prayers to all his family, friends and comrades at this difficult time."

Next of kin have been informed and have asked for a period of grace before further details are released.
He had bought a large map representing the sea,
Without the least vestige of land:
And the crew were much pleased when they found it to be
A map they could all understand.
