and have we ever established just who made the compo sausages, the Westlers ones aren't as good or is the smell of stale wee and cabbage water getting in the way of my taste buds?

In the 1960's the Compo was mainly tinned .... Jam Roly Poly was like a lump of lead . Remember tubed Condensed Milk and Hard Tack biscuits which I think were made by a Dog Biscuit Company . There was another item in a tube ... could have been smoked cheese . I think the chocolate was bars of Tiffin ... again normally white with age .

If you remember the Biscuits Fruit, you must remember the Rolos Gren.
Stop drinking the Paraffin -- it's wrecking your brain cells! :P
Ohh... I've just remembered the manky peanuts and raisins in small cellophane packets. Shudder.

PS; I neglected to mention in my opening post that the packs of noodles were also only contained in the ten man catering packs - we had so many of the fuckers on Telic 1 that even the chogies were telling us where to shove them.

When was your day? I remember getting these on one of my exercises in Phase 1 training, around October 1995. (Not seen since then though)
