I've got three nights in the UJC early January, where can I get mashed local to it?
The Fire Station across the road is ok. A bit pricey, but it's open late, and full of foreign bints.
The Hole in the Wall isn't far. Saints/Drag/KP and myself got w@nkered in there a while back. Not a bad little number. It depends on what you want from a pub?
Prince Albert, Albert Bridge Road used to be good, as was the Chelsea Potter
Not keen on the Chelsea Potter - round the corner in Flood Street is the Coopers Arms - much nicer. Also the Duke of Wellington in Eaton Terrace is good.
The Coopers Arms is lovely but a little more expensive than other pubs for wine
I like the Old Dr Johnson's Head (somewhere near The Guildhall)
Fortunately my dear wife is OK with Addlestone's cider - for me the Youngs bitter in the Coopers is about the best I've tasted (except for in the brewery obviously!). The food is OK as well.
Let's not tell everyone or there will be no room in the garden!
The Magpie near Liverpool Street Station, proper old man's pub love it :D
If you're in EC2land (Liverpool Street/Bishopsgate) try:
"The Fox", Paul Street - great pub - my local when in town. There are loads of great boozers just to the East of Spitalfields along Commercial Road. You can always follow up with a Ruby down Brick Lane.
Further West, try "The Harp" in Chandos Place (Near Covent Gdn). The Barmaids are a real laugh.
When Mighty Roast Beef was the Englishman's Food
It ennobl'd our veins and enriched our Blood:
Our Soldiers were Brave and our Courtiers were Good:
Oh! The Roast Beef of Old England,
And Old English Roast Beef.
Went in The Gloucester on Sloane St last week and it was nice. Morpeth Arms on Millbank.
For some authentic stripper action and a trip into the 80's, try the Queen Anne in Vauxhall.
My bold - P-U-L-E-E-S-E. to both. I can only surmise that it was a 'civil servant' who's been promoted contest either downstairs or upstairs :D
As for the Queen Anne, I agree, a great place, provided you are armed with a serious number of 50p pieces for the collection jug :D
Take it you never made 'The Lavender' or were there too many Spring Garden folks there before you? Saw the food deteriorate over the years more's the pity, but Jeffrey and his bird seemed to enjoy lunchtime sessions there. Even had a regular table.... err.... allegedly. Picos was a haunt for a while. Riverside was ok with a mistress or a secretary in tow :D

erm..isn't Vauxhall noted for those who......er.......bat for the other side?
Yup, the left footers have a few venues there. It was interesting some evenings leaving work and finding Reni and most of 40 Commando dressed up and queuing to get into the pub by the park entrance gates. It was opposite Cobalt Square, the Met Police building, not that Trotsky and I would know that of course :D

I fired an RPG from the park in Vauxhall once and ducked into the Vauxhall Tavern on exfil.
Very interesting place and a deffo for a 'meet me in Vauxhall Tavern' with directions for any new to Laandan Tahn types.
CTR and watch the look of pure disgust or something different from the blokes you have sent in when they come running out followed by a stream of blokes who are light on their loafers. Hee hee.

Were you driving the x-country motor-cycle or the passenger? Can we meet? Vauxhall Tavern is ok by me. I'll be mostly in pink, but you'll recognise the roll mats
