    Official: Curry cures cancer

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8328377.stm

    Cures dementia and arthritis too!
    :D
Not so sure about 'trapped gas'?
"As we moved slowly through the outskirts of the town we passed row after row of little grey slum houses running at right angles to the embankment. At the back of one of the houses a young woman was kneeling on the stones, poking a stick up the leaden waste-pipe which ran from the sink inside and which I suppose was blocked. I had time to see everything about her - her sacking apron, her clumsy clogs, her arms reddened by the cold. She looked up as the train passed, and I was almost near enough to catch her eye."

    Interesting.

You need to eat approx 100g of turmeric to derive sufficient quantities of the required chemical compounds. Good luck with that. It is also poorly absorbed by the body and highly unstable once consumed in any event.

Also, and I hope I need hardly state it here, but killing cells in a petri dish is a world apart from 'curing cancer'.

On the plus side, it is a lovely colour.

Looks like typically poor science reporting to me.

You can die by drinking too much - can't remember what the docs call it when you do though
Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.

Yep it's pretty horrific stuff if you aren't careful. I understand that total immersion in a Dihydrogen Monoxide environment can also be fatal.

I've always felt better after a thumping portion of tikka massala or aloo ghobi.

Ooh, noticed your catchline and couldn't help myself:

Socialism is a [response to] failure [of self-interest], the creed of [idealism], and the gospel of [good intent], its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of [lost dreams].
