I will be honest, and was pleasantly surprised when I read this book. I thought it would be a very dry book, on a supposedly very dry subject, but I thought the author managed to make this book both readable and enjoyable.
The money that is involved in the gaming industry is quite phenomenal, however the author explains the amount of development involved, and how the technology has grown in leaps and bounds over the past 20 years, and also tries to outline where he feels the directions that games developers are trying to advance.
The book also goes some way to dispelling any worries that a parent may have that games are there to intentionally warp your children’s minds.
Anyone who is interested in more than just playing their games, and would like to understand the background and how the games are developed would find a good and informative read in this book.
