Picked up via the Telegraph - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/pol...s-rail-travel-and-business-class-flights.html
Essentially someone has realised that about £25m a year across Govt (inc the Armed Forces) is spent on travelling in Taxis or business class flights and that its got a bit more expensive in recent years.
I'm struggling to get outraged here - people have to travel, they often have to get flights at short notice when availability is limited, and they often have to go to funny places where there is no public transport (I'm looking particularly at some RAF and Army barracks here) .
The ability to get business class travel is ridiculously difficult, its actually a rarity to see it occur these days unless you're travelling a bloody long way and work a full day on arrival and even then its usual to see people in Economy doing the same.
This feels like the Telegraph thinking that somehow Govt should never travel and never do things, if only so it can write about how bloody useless it is for not doing anything!
