oops. double post.
I read the original version of this joke, in which the bloke is applying to the FBI, in the book Cold Zero.
Fcuk's sake, Alec - tell us how you really feel!
Here's some background to the Enquiry held after the collapse of the LCB case.As usual the case concerned the use of informants. In this case they were NOT registered, even 'though they were participants in the matter!!!Let us hope that thing have improved in SOCA over this particular matter-but I'm not holding my breath!!
One of my touts lost his life over this. That's why I'm so fcuking sore!
You are so full of shit. You came on here talking about your time with the ID. When I pick at the scab I find that you were a bitter admin grunt who went on to Detection after four years. Presumably, you enjoyed your time in Detection and worked hard, but no, you actually hated the Dept so much you are pleased to be going to an organisation that is nothing more than a political reaction to right wing fears!
I assume you will be very happy there but I resent the fact that you suggest on a public forum that if I have not witnessed Officers involved in criminal activity it is somehow because I am blind to what goes on around me. The Department had/has its bad apples, but you came on this forum to give people the impression that it is a constant state and its not!
Finally, I accept that when you were an admin Officer your evidence of criminality balanced against your quality of life, was such a weak position that you felt you could not blow the whistle. However, since you have been over 10 years in Detection and are now in UKBA I don't understand why you have not done something about it. You seem happy to sling mud on here but claim you have not been in a position to do anything about it. Well unlike you, the world has moved on,
So pick up the phone and tell the Police what you know or Feck off out of it!
To misquote others, it is simply the inaction of weak men that allows evil men to prosper!
I rest my case!
You are unable to read a 7 page thread, but consider yourself an investigator. My opening post on this thread stated I did four years in support. No dissembling there. No attempt to pass myself off as one of you.
Your use of the term 'bitter admin grunt' is typical of the attitude I experienced daily in the NIS. So many specialists held the support staff in utter contempt, and made their jobs hell. I once went to a meeting of support staff which was scheduled to start at 10AM and last for one hour. It was attended by a senior manager (name escapes me) who was horrified at what he heard from so many present. The gist of many complaints was that many of them were being blamed for the failures of specialists, due to a gradist blame culture in the NIS and this was damaging their career progression. This meeting carried on after lunch and ended at 3pm. It was an eye opener for me, as up until then, I thought I was just unlucky and maybe I was to blame for all those cock-ups made by the Officers I supported. Actually it was because none of these specialists had the guts to âfess up when they made mistakes because they feared it would damage their careers, so sought to shift the blame to others outside of their peers. And clearly little has changed as Harrythebastard notes:
I'd rather be a customs officer in HMCE, than a UK Border Agent in the UKBA. Most of my colleagues feel the same. Most of the former Border Force/Immigration Officers I meet would rather remain as Immigration Officers in the immigration service. They are two dissimilar jobs that can never be merged, just because they work in the same building. My fear is that 10 years from now there will be no customs controls and only ever increasing immigration beauracracy. If the UKBA is a political reaction to right wing fears, then itâs not the answer and will likely fail too.
The only person with that impression is you.
Give yer head a wobble. It would be a conversation like this:
Me: Hello, is that the Police? Well' I'd like to report a crime that didn't happen over a decade ago because I said no, and there is no evidence of the crime because I said no. When can you come round and take a statement of how a crime didn't happen because I said no? What? You're too busy dealing with crimes that actually happened today? Oh..Sorry to bother you...Goodbye.
Which goes straight back to my first point. Or is this your attempt at irony?
and finally, I'll echo Harrythebastard's contribution:
Oh look I'm really sorry I upset you!
For the record I was neither ID nor am I any longer an Investigator. Maybe it is just me, but from your first post I had the distinct impression you were talking from a position of some knowledge and that you had witnessed on MANY occasions acts of incompetence and conspiracy to falsify evidence. You know, witnessed them! Not hearsay, not your spin, but actual events. If that was the case then surely you would have a case to take to the Old Bill. By the way, surely you have got some mates to corroborate your mudslinging or was it just you that all these bad things happened to? If not, from where I'm standing you were just mud-slinging to big yourself up! That was certainly the impression you gave me!
Just my impression, but hey obviously I am wrong because you say so!
My head wobbles anyway so I wont wait till a chopper like you tells me to wobble it! (A lot of the shit you fling isn't original is it?)
You didn't upset me, but I think you have just shot yourself in the foot with this here.
So how do you know I am so wrong? Is that your investigators 'gut instinct' then
I'm so happy I don't have to work with berks like you anymore.
Twat! There were investigators after the ID, some of us did almost 10 years in the role, and having moved only this autumn I would say perhaps my knowledge is better than yours.
Could not agree more. Whether you admit it or not there were plenty like you too. Did you used to walk round the support office in your Gucci chest kit every Monday morning, or were you the one at the liaison do overheard telling anyone that didn't know, how much higher than Investigators you could piss. Yawn!
You came to this thread slinging your jaundiced views about a part of an Organisation that you moved away from some years ago and didn't like it when challenged by someone who has spent those intervening years dealing with the fall out caused by the complacency of ALL in the Dept. I seem to remember for instance that the poor sod singled out for the most vitriol from LCB was not in Investigation either. Perhaps it was you?
I suppose your online name is double ironic too! If you like you can get in touch and I can arrange somewhere where we can get you together with the good people that you used to work with. Maybe they will take your allegations about the others forward on your behalf. I would be happy to assist a fellow Officer in finally finding catharsis for the wrongs done to him all those years ago, which clearly still weigh heavy. You owe it to yourself!
Ding !, Ding ! End of Round .......................?
Mr Walt & Mr Apprenctice you are getting as popular as myself.
All very interesting but what has this got to do with the Intel Corpse (awaiting incoming usual microsoft comments)
If you need to set up a HMRC/SOCA/UKBA blog to vent each others pro/neg views PM me.
Now let us get back to them Slimers. Here is one I found earlier ...............
Green Slime RAF Roadie
Very nice! Don't like yours much!
You took your time chucking your two-penneth in! If I fraternise with you they will definitely believe all the bad press.
You only posted that so that you could have the last word. Your welcome.
Every time you hit the send key, a little bit more of your credibility disappears. Actually, I have enjoyed this fireside chat. It shows that you still hold everybody else in the law enforcement world in utter contempt, but still can't fathom why no-one likes you.
It's worth noting that the tone of your threads, from largely agreeing with me at first, to dismissing and abusing me as soon as the penny dropped that I was in a support role, proving that culturally, you are still in the NIS. When this thread was recently revived, I stated that I had nothing to add about the new SOCA, because as far as I was concerned they had completely disappeared off my radar. However your posts leave me with the suspicion that nothing much has changed except the name and you now have a silly thundercats badge in your pocket. Its also worth noting that you have twisted the argument and distorted the stated facts to suit your increasingly vitriolic attacks.
Why don't you tell Harrythebastard how wrong he is too? Because, forum wise, he'd probably tear you a new one and leave you looking an even bigger cünt, because he will probably not hold back in telling you some home truths about SOCA.
And don't you dare call me a 'fellow officer' I am not one of your colleagues any longer.
It's been cathartic alright. For you that is! Doesn't the new SOCA provide support staff for you to bully and belittle then? Or do they simply tell you to fcuk off these days?
Still, Keep up the good work. The rest of us enjoy having someone to hate, just as you clearly do
Will you two civilians please go and get a room somewhere. I am the only true and rightful custodian of the readers' vitriol round here.
(( With the atrociuos state of vetting outside the MoD how can we know that either of you did not have "HR issues" with a precurrsor organisation?))
Adastra, you're getting very boring...you really are a one trick pony aren't you?
I think he may have been drinking; there can be no other reason why he would have such grievous spelling in this forum!
Christ, AdAstra, do you go looking for that sort of thing? You've got a very sick little elf living in your head. Now you've spoiled this thread for me. Twat.
