6th June 1944, The RAF land on Omaha Beach

I thought some of you may find this little known fact interesting. When American's tell you they won the war tell them 'Not without the help of Les and his muckers on Omaha Beach they didn't'.

Les is a truly humble gentleman who I've had the pleasure to do some research for. He doesn't want fame or fourtune - He just wants his 'oppo's' that didn't come home to be remembered.

Those of you visiting Omaha this year spare a thought for the RAF and they weren't even RAF Regt ;)

ENJOY !

I read somewhere that some of the casualties taken by the RAF on Omaha were as a result of 'friendly fire'...RAF blue being mistaken for field grey!
