    Auction rules & guidelines

Rules for Auctions in aid of H4H.

Please notify the H4H Auction Team before starting an auction. They might advise a delay before you start, as they do their best to make sure that there aren't too many similar auctions running at the same time. They also try to ensure a good spread of lots, whether bears, military items, coins, books, bottles, sausages or whatever at any time.

The Auction Team will manage your auction for you if you wish, or you can do it yourself. Either way the money goes to the same excellent cause.

Please put an end date on your auction.

If we haven't heard from you within one month of your winning an auction, we will re-auction the item. We will contact you with reminders, but we need to bear in mind that the disappointed bidders might pay more promptly into a fund which has constant demands on it.

If you don't know how to put a photo to your auction or if you're having any other problem about your auction, please contact the Team and we will try to sort it out.

When the auction ends, please put the banner with all the payment accounts and options on it, and notify YesItsMe, as she keeps a record of auctions and the amount they raised, which will be published in the arrse newsletter.

    Re: Auction rules & guidelines

Folks, please also remember that every year in October and November the COs run Auctions to raise funds for RBL.

H4H suspends its auction activity during this time, so there's no 'competition' for the contents of arrsers' wallets.

Please avoid embarrassment to the H4H Team, and avoid starting auctions to raise money for H4H between 1st October and 20th November.
And this you can see is the bolt. The purpose of this
Is to open the breech, as you see. We can slide it
Rapidly backwards and forwards: we call this
Easing the spring. And rapidly backwards and forwards
The early bees are assaulting and fumbling the flowers:
They call it easing the Spring.
They call it easing the Spring: it is perfectly easy
If you have any strength in your thumb: like the bolt,
And the breech, and the cocking-piece, and the point of balance,
Which in our case we have not got; and the almond-blossom
Silent in all of the gardens and the bees going backwards and forwards,
For today we have naming of parts.

All, here's a quick update with a slight change. The COs will not be running their auctions in favour of RBL this year, so we at the Holidays for Heroes Auction Team will continue right through to 27th November and the start of the 'It will all be over by Christmas' campaign. We have some great items lined up, which will keep MDN in hamsters for some time to come.

We do try to arrange it so that a range of different items is on auction at any time, so we'd apreciate your contacting us before starting auctions, so we're not flooded with books, or pictures, or replica weapons in any week.

Other than that, the rules remain as posted, and if you do feel that you'd like to give a little more for your poppy this year, that would be a great way to help another excellent cause.

    A short update:

It goes without saying that you describe items you put up for auction as accurately as possibly.
If clothes have been worn before, please mention it in the auction.
Same for used items like books, please describe their condition in detail.

On the subject of delivery, please try to conform to a usual dispatch time of 3 to 7 days.
If you're on holiday or something like that, please mention it in your auction text,
so that people are informed about it in advance.

The auctioneer reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids.
However, if any dispute arises between two or more bidders, the auctioneer may decide the same
or may immediately put the lot up for sale again, and resell to the highest bidder.
The decision of the auctioneer shall be final and absolute.
