    Hols4heroes (sitrep)

Just a brief run down on situation to date, from Christmas to date.

    Monies in £24,400 (ish)

    Monies out £24,400 (ish)

Every penny raised is always put to immediate work, we don’t agree with holding money, sadly for many every day is a rainy day. No point us sitting on it when there are those in need.

    Holidays4Heroes
Holidays booked and paid to date = 29 families
Holidays waiting for funding = Too many to count

    Help Them Out
Welfare cases to date = 37
    Those include:
    Repossessions prevented
    Bankruptcy Proceeding prevented
    Individual Voluntary Agreements

We’ve also sent food vouchers, taken guys off the streets, found jobs, provided laptops, paid for school uniforms, provided white goods, paid bailiffs, covered utility bills, debt counselled, assisted RBL / SSAFA & BLESMA, provided Christmas presents for dozens of Kids both from blokes on hard times, children of those who lost their mothers and fathers, Cleared arrears, sent the families of injured to see them over and above what the system provides & provided legal care and representation for a good few blokes.

We’ve now got an 0844 number which is currently in circulation where its needed

Holidays4heroes ethos is still very much ‘Boys helping the boys’ and its just a shame that only a few of us can see he impact and good that this organisation is doing.

    The future:

Highly likely that Florida will come on board next year, negotiations with airlines continue and properties coming on daily from Taunton to Thailand.

Some awesome auction items on the immediate horizon.

Sincere thanks to ALL the team: Spanish_Dave for having an ear on the ground and continually blagging us properties and time. Meridian for constant IT grown up stuff, Blue_sophist for bear stuff, Blueygirl for ongoing behind the scenes pushing, begging and pleading and also for having a very firm bottom.

Good effort all round, hoping the rain stays away for the Spatulas.
Well, the prodigal brother. When did you get back? Ain't seen you since the surrender. Come to think of it, I didn't see you at the surrender.

I don't believe in surrenders. Nope, I've still got my saber, Reverend. Didn't beat it into no plowshare, neither

Been talking to one of the ITEX walk ladies - you've had £170 from them already, there's about another £300 in the process of being gathered in. Probably going to take until the end of the month, though.

Whilst the ID MDN may at present be lost, the Holidays 4 Heroes team is still fully in place, and its work will continue. More requests pile in weekly, and the need for cash to help them is ever present.

It's a great shame that due to confidentiality more of the results cannot be published. But please believe that we are making a considerable difference where it is possible to do so!

It was only a name, and a very silly one anyway.

Believe me, the only difference is that MDN [may his name be praised] is having a MUCH deserved holiday over the next couple of weeks. The fact that the cupid stunt didn't offer to take a Bear with him will be addressed later.

He will return under a different ARRSE user-name, which is just as stupid as the last one.

    Op NORMAL, folks.

    Bear Hugs and stuff.
Don't send me PMs, because I don't monitor this account. Email me at sgt.slingsby@gmail.com
That makes life a LOT easier! Or you could visit www.holidays4heroes.org of course!

Don't worry Slings by he still loves you

I just found this in yannie's PDA what she thinks of MDN ,Sometimes even she makes a bloke cry

There are heroes who walk among us
never looking for glory or praise
    They don't seek recognition
    for their thoughtful, caring ways.
    Living lives of deep commitment
providing for those they hold dear
    Steadfast with a quiet strength
through times of laughter and tears.
You are a person like that to us
The most selfless man by far
So MDN, we'd like to thank you
For being the HERO that you are.
