A Thoughtful Gesture to Dying Boy

I thought this recent story deserved mention and am posting it here since I saw it in a UK paper and in hopes that the slagging that seems to be irresistible for some ARRSERs will be reserved for other forums. It is especially appropriate given that today is our Memorial Day--a day set aside for the same reason as Remembrance Day in the UK.

"A democracy cannot survive as a permanent form of government. It can last only until its citizens discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority (who vote) will vote for those candidates promising the greatest benefits from the public purse, with the result that a democracy will always collapse from loose fiscal policies, always followed by a dictatorship." Good post, nothing really to add, a nice, simple but meaningful gesture from the Marine who stood guard which will no doubt have ment alot to the family.

Very thought provoking, with all the issues in the world just a simple symbolism means more than words can say

Some thoughtful ARRSErs asked how to contact Sgt. Dolfini--his Facebook page is:

the Marines will be giving Cody a full military funeral, full with a color guard, tap, and 21-gun salute

    Will play Taps?
JJH, can you confirm the story says former Marine stood guard. But the marines will give him a full military funeral - the unit or former members?

Having just had a little one myself, it is very very dusty in here thinking about that youngster offering to wash his mother.s hair. What a great little person.
