The Nike results page appears to reflect their organisation skills...

There's no way of putting my number in, only name and it gives me 1:02:03 as my time. Which is isn't. Not only did I (accurately) use my own stopwatch but I also received an official text from the organisers about half an hour later confirming my chip time as being exactly as my watch time: 54:09. Stick Goaty's name in and it comes up with the time he showed us on his stopwatch and official text. But then his name is more unusal than mine.

It's all a bit bizarre... no doubt Runner's World will now include the results in their lambasting but I know what we did and FMoP you know you were just about beside me across the finish so you've got that at least.

I'm fairly certain all our shoe chips were correctly fitted, noted during the hour it took us to cross the start, however I did notice that the timing mats were unusually narrow, whereas other races have wider mats to catch those who go over with the chipped foot up in the air, maybe they didn't catch all your splits and assumed you'd carked it half way round!?

I had the same problem a couple of years ago, I'd timed myself from the moment I crossed the start line, the time on the website was from the start of the race which was about 10 minutes before I got to the start.

    Though I didn't use a chip.

And for letting the dog in!

Just got back from the ferry and am about to crash, but it was great meeting you all!

Yeah I've had that problem before, but I don't think that's the case here as it took an hour after the gun went to get across the start, I'd be pretty peeved if they listed my time as 2 hours! No, I believe it's a case of crappy software as out of 30,000 people I doubt I was the only person with my name and there's no facility to put my number.

I've just put my name in again and come up with 'No results found'! Tossers.

Yet my chip MUST have worked else how could they have sent me a text with my time on.... that corresponded exactly with my stopwatch.

    Bring back the ASCIS organisers!

Stan... good to meet you too, hope dear little B is none the worse for wear for tramping around London, loitering in club courtyards and pubs. I was relieved to not see your car on the news being blown up!

Crow - it's been a couple of years since you joined us (the memories must have been erased by now), so maybe next year?

Well all I can do apologise. I followed the idiots guide (apt I guess). I have had this trouble before with chip timings as have others I know.

Just tried on my work PC in case bunging in a bunch of different names upset the cookies on my lappy at home last night and I'm still now getting 'NO RESULTS FOUND', along with FMoP, Fablon and Panzy. Goats is the only one whose name comes up with the time he was also texted on the day. I'd swear the chips were attached correctly.... even if Fablon did some of them!

    It just gets better!

The photos are in and you can indeed download a free one - if you're happy with the drowned rat look then pick the one you prefer and click 'Race time photo' where it'll automatically add a footer with your time. You can then download it gratis.

Guess what... the footer shows my time as 54:09. Sooo chaps, if the Nike official results page keeps telling you you don't exist or that you ran the race in 7 hours then try the official Marathon Photos site, they obviously know more than the race organisers, the knobs.

Got a link for the technologically challenged ? ( you know...the one who managed to successfully attach his chip to his shoe )

I think .dolly's theory re the mats is probably right - I made a point of stepping on each one at this event , having apparentely NOT completed the Great South two years ago as a result of jinking over a bollard in the last horrible mile into the sideways rain....

I'd particularly like to see how the Ron Moody lookalike running for Bhopal Trust got on - that man's face could be his fortune !

Er not for me, 1h25m43s. I could have walked faster than that. I'm rather hacked off, I would have preferred my chip timings to the drowned rat pics. This happened in the Paris Half and Full Marathon, new improved chips which don't bloody well work. A disaster if you are trying to prove GFA.
