Arriving at crack of sparrows on Sunday, parking the motor up and will meet you all at the RV in Trafalgar Square. Looking forward to it!--

OK LISTEN IN! IMPORTANT STUFF:
CS have sent the official packs out now, via Recorded Delivery as they didn't receive them themselves until Monday. I had to retrieve mine from the sorting office, but at least it's arrived in good time. Hopefully you've all got yours too, or can retrieve from UselessMail easily enough.
Firstly: St James' Park has been closed to the public because of Jubliee/Olympics so picnic is not there. It's being held in the courtyard of the 'In and Out' Naval and Military Club, No.4 St James's Square. I will bring map/address for the support team - who are of course welcome there, as are any family/hangers-on. I will also bring run route map.
Secondly: Having taken over the British 10k Nike have gone overboard on two-shedding the previous sponsor Asics what with the t-shirts (that no-one will wear, you must wear your CS t-shirt) and it seems we WILL be chip timed this year. This is stuck on the number (which with it being green printed on black the official photographers won't like it!) and needs to be peeled off and attached to your shoe.
Lastly. RV is NW corner of Trafalgar Square outside the khazis, as per usual. 0800/0815hrs Sunday 08 July for a last wee, photography, group hug and banner/tin transfer prior to the runners heading to the baggage drop in Whitehall Place and on to the start at down Piccadilly. The supporters will lurch off to the nearest pub before loitering/swaying on street corners along the route. Race gun goes at 0935hrs.
Clear as mud? Good.
Of all the years I've hankered for a Sedan Chair this is the one where I REALLY AM going to need it. It's been insisted that I attend the Scots Guards Summer Ball in Catterick on Saturday night, meaning a drive up from Kent on Saturday, stay sober at Ball, leave at an obscenely early hour, drive down to either London or preferably home, change from ball gown into running clobber, train into London lugging banner and stuff (half hour kip on there if I'm lucky), meet you lot, run. Phew! No chance of a PB then?
PS. We won't be accompanied by a lobster this year, he's working on his tan.
A beer token lobbed in here would be EVER-SO gratefully received... by not just me. Thank you. Helen Garner is fundraising for Ex-Services Mental Welfare Society (COMBAT STRESS)
PPS. Big soppy thank yous to TATP, BB (who?), FBC and Mistersoft for your marvellous sponsorship.Last edited by .Dolly; 05-07-2012 at 13:26. Reason: to add thank-yous

Additional info:
Just to add to this year's change around from standard please note the Charity Baggage drop (i.e. OURS) has moved from Waterloo Place to Whitehall Place - which is just down Whitehall on the left (must be somewhere close to the Rozzer gee-gee stables?). Again, it's marked on the map that you'll get from CS/Nike. It actually makes it simpler to retrieve your stuff after shuffling across the finish line.

'Mob' overstates it...look for a sorry section in white shirts, some swaying and giggling, others clutching bananas and wondering why the damn Traf Sq karzis don't open till 9am...Last edited by Goatman; 06-07-2012 at 21:59.

I thought last year's closure was a one off? They were always open in the years before that. That is not good if the opening time has changed, I ended up legging it over to MacDonalds on The Strand and going in the mens last year along with a thousand other people.
Right, I'm away for an interesting 24 hours. See you all in the morning, matchsticks at the ready. For those carb-ing and hydrating it up in town tonight watch the intake, we could without green faces and comedy spewing along the route this year.
