Alf, my dear, you're as young as you feel. And with medicinal homemade Ginger Nuts and Lemon Drizzle Cake you'll be leaping about like a Spring Lamb.

Ignore Mrs. Darthspud. She's as thin as a thin thing despite eating lots of nibbles. But we will miss her and her other half.
And this you can see is the bolt. The purpose of this
Is to open the breech, as you see. We can slide it
Rapidly backwards and forwards: we call this
Easing the spring. And rapidly backwards and forwards
The early bees are assaulting and fumbling the flowers:
They call it easing the Spring.
They call it easing the Spring: it is perfectly easy
If you have any strength in your thumb: like the bolt,
And the breech, and the cocking-piece, and the point of balance,
Which in our case we have not got; and the almond-blossom
Silent in all of the gardens and the bees going backwards and forwards,
For today we have naming of parts.

Well, as we'll have no Mr. Pink Shoes this year, I'll need a volunteer for sweet-talking the young ladies and the yummy mummies. Should I pencil you in?

    Strike ! Ha!

have you posted this on RP? i mentioned it to Scuba Angel the other week and she may be persuaded......
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, camel blue in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOW!!! WHAT A RIDE !!!!!!!!!!!

    Only me...

Yes should be able to fit some time in if not all. Let me work on this and get something specific sorted.

What with all the other stuff going on this Summer I thought I'd get it in early and ask for helpers to put the weekend in their diaries.

There is work for everyone - erecting and dismantling the stall, eating cake, hanging bunting, making brews, eating cake, taking bears' photographs, and selling goods. Of course there's the opportunity to chat up members of the opposite sex whilst asking them for money. Did I mention the cake? The more helpers there are, the easier it is for people to take a break to watch the various events and soak up the atmosphere.

We already have a guarantee of help from Alfredo, so we'll be pitched next to the Parachute Regimental Association again. Shopgirl will be there with stock, and we'll be asking Steve the Photographer to photograph Sgt Slingsby and Cpl Horsa who are scheduled to be there.

If you'd like to help on either day, please let me know via PM or on this thread. Thank you.

I only saw her today! She was busy so I didn't get a chance to ask. She'd be a great asset, if you could persuade her.

Not sure I'm a member on RP. will sort that over the weekend. Thanks for the tip Poppy.

Good drills, that bear. Please thank him for me. Horsa and Amy send their love. (Platonically of course!)
