Does his gaff need any attention? Can get him some new flooring if required, pm me if needed!
If you are able,
save them a place
inside of you
and save one backward glance
when you are leaving
for the places they can
no longer go.
Be not ashamed to say
you loved them,
though you may
or may not have always.
Take what they have left
and what they have taught you
with their dying
and keep it with your own.
And in that time
when men decide and feel safe
to call the war insane,
take one moment to embrace
those gentle heroes
you left behind.

Scarletto
well done you....sounds like you have this gripped.
The RNBT have been mentioned but if you get no joy then the overarching seagoer's charity ( used to be King George's Fund for Sailors) is now known as SEAFARERS UK.
Their website is at Grants & How to get help – Seafarers UK
.Help for individuals
If you are a seafarer wanting help, or if you are a welfare professional and sometimes need to find help for seafarers there are a number or resources to help you.
Seafarer Support is a free helpline that can refer you to a charity that can help – whatever your situation. If you are a serving or former seafarer or are from a seafaring family they will be happy to help you. The number is 0800 121 4765
Keep us posted how he gets on - Arrse muscle WORKS !" Without sound Defence, you don't have Schools, hospitals or roads...what you have is a pile of ash...."

20-10-2011, 16:18 #15I write down everything I want to remember. That way, instead of spending a lot of time trying to remember what it is I wrote down, I spend the time looking for the paper I wrote it down on.

Scarletto...I can't add anything to the excellent info given by others, but would like to say well done to you for raising the issue. AARSE is a great medium for having a laugh, but is also a very useful way to get help for those that genuinely need it. Good luck to you and the old Matelot you're helping...Nice one!!!
Keep us informed mate...TTLast edited by TalaveraTom; 20-10-2011 at 16:40.
Come Mrs Gargery, let us have a taste of that savoury pork pie and see if we may do it some justice!!!

Would like to say thanks to all who helped, sadly Tommy died today. Managed to get him into a proper care home for his last few weeks, so anyway Blue skies and calm seas Tommy.

25-01-2012, 20:38 #18It's true that gingers have no souls'. I sold mine to the Devil years ago for 4 cans of Skol, 20 Lambert & Butler's and a go on his mother when she was pissed up after her 40th Birthday bash.
