Leaving Germany after having had my tax free car for only 8 months. If i sold this car before the 12 month point will i have to pay back the Tax.

I understand i would face a 5 year ban on returning to Germany, but would i have to pay the tax back.

I have been told that after 6 months its only a ban but not the Tax. ??

If you sell it before the 12 months, you pay the tax and get the ban.

Why not keep it for 5 months? It's not that long.

you would have thought you would of asked the BFG office when you de-registered it or when you reregistered it in uk

try contacting the BFG office they will give you your answer
but HTB is right pay the tax take the ban

Best thing to do is take vehicle back to UK and register with DVLA....then sell it after 4 months. You can apply to take it back to UK under a year and a day old and proof of posting order is required.

Go to your local BFG office
