Dunno if it helps any, but the Edmonton Police are recruiting. I was there a couple weeks ago and there's ads all over town. Not sure I'd want to live in AB though. To say the least, it's FUCKING COLD in the winter. Like -50C cold.

........and Edmonton's a shit hole. I'm nor sure if they're recruiting overseas applicants though, even then they normally require some previous police experience.

The cold's not that bad mate, at least it's a dry cold.

Two Points:

1. No self respecting man in Canada would say they place "ice hockey." The only real hockey is played on ice to begin with, and the use of the word ice is unnecessary and implied that field hockey or ball hockey are something other then idle pass times.

2. Edmonton may be a cold, miserable, godforsaken shit hole over run with Somalians, but at least we aren't filled with the pretentious twats that make up the citizenry of Calgary.

No the CFL is just a way to make people feel slightly better about living in Saskatchewan. Luckily most seem to be dim enough that it actually works. As for your other point.... I can't bring myself to defend Edmonton further.

There is a huge surge in recruiting in Alberta at the moment because of the oil sands and the fact that the baby boomer generation is starting to retire. Now is the time to move I think.

I was offerred three jobs in Vancouver a couple of years ago, I seem to recall there was only a couple of weeks leave a year this was for a Nurse, is it the same for other groups?
