Bloody hell ...
Lance Corporal Steven Mark Thirlwell, The Prince of Wales's Own Yorkshire Regiment (PWO), aged 26, died as a result of a road traffic accident near Cold Hussar, Bosnia and Herzegowina, on 4 November 1996.
I read about it in Winter Warriors - Across Bosnia with the PBI. A Spartan went over an anti tank mine and was bounced onto another. It took a few days to get to the bodies as the 7.62 link was cooking off from the resulting fire. I'm sure it must be these three lads:
Trooper John Robert Kelly, The Light Dragoons, aged 21, died as a result of a mine explosion in Titov Devar, Bosnia and Herzegowina, on 28 January 1996.
Trooper Andrew Ovington, The Light Dragoons, aged 25, died as a result of exposure to inanimate mechanical forces in Titov Devar, Bosnia and Herzegowina, on 28 January 1996.
Lieutenant Richard Wyndham Madden, The Light Dragoons, aged 25, died as a result of a mine explosion in Titov Devar, Bosnia and Herzegowina, on 28 January 1996.

This definitely the one you want. I remember the RTA site well. It was on a section of hairpins just after Cold Hussar as you entered the 'Anvil' from the SW. I believe the 432 cut across the hairpin and went nose down at a rate of knots, might even have overturned. Cause of death was as previously described, not nice.
Interestingly in the lists recently given it shows Captain Steve Wormald as being in 158 Regt RLC. I knew Steve well as we'd served together in West Belfast and spookily I had a pretty major hand in the formation of 158. I know that 158 had R Anglian staff but I don't remember that it had even been formed when he was killed.
Hi Ventress, any other details, do you mean on Ops? I remember Ben Deal killing himself in an RTC just outside Hohne, after returning from Keogh from his CMT 1 course. Very sad, he was a nice guy.

It was definently Green Howards because they took over us (1 RGJ) in 1996,wheather he was a Green Howard Reg/TA or attached though i'm not 100% sure ! Remember getting told about it,very unlucky,RIP.
