Sell it through a place that will earn you a fortune now (try Googling and see what people are asking to buy a copy), then wait until this happens:

and buy yourself a new, cheap copy.

Via ARRSE and with the help an ARRSE member who contacted me about the problem, and because of the enthusiasm you guys are showing for the book, we are looking to find a way of republishing to get it to you guys at a sensible and normal paperback price.

I'm ex-service myself, and my wife is an army brat whose Dad served over 30 years, mostly with the Armoured Corps. Now that I know you guys are really keen, I promise I'll do something to get 'Chieftains' republished. If anyone's got suggestions that could help, please get in touch. Regards to everyone, Bob.
An old thread I know but if you ever come on here - have you thought about re-publishing on the new fangled Kindle? I read this book on my first Germany posting mid 80s but cannot afford the prices it fetches online.

Hi Guys......news about 'Chieftains'. At long last, and at enormous expense (well, some!), I've managed to get 'Chieftains up onto Kindle at Amazon, so if you want it on your latest Christmas present, or your PC, laptop, etc., you can now get it at a very sensible price via Amazon as an ebook. I've also been trying to get it up onto Lulu as a softback that will also be at a sensible price, but am having shit trying to do it. Have so far spent 240 hours (honestly!) trying to get the bloody thing up. But will go on trying.
If you are also interested in Kohima and also maybe a bit of romance (well, you could pretend you're buying it for the wife), have a look at 'The Lushai Girl' by Roberta Forrest (well, a man has to make a living, and the Kohima battle is strong stuff, and I really did do a hell of a lot of research - like going there) Try it. It's also on Kindle books on Amazon. PS. Don't get any funny ideas just because I used the pseudonym Roberta. Happy Christmas and New Year to you all.

    Likewise.

Edit - don't see The Lushai Girl as a Kindle option, Bob.

Hi Guys....... A bit of good news (I hope) about 'Chieftains'. I've managed to get it up onto Kindle at Amazon, so you can get it for Kindle and PC's and laptops etc., and all at a very sensible ebook price. I'm also trying to get it published as a softback on Lulu, but so far have spent 240 hours trying to get it up and right with no success, but I'll keep trying. I think they would really like me to hand the total job of publishing it over to them. However, I'm pretty certain I'll cope with the DIY method myself eventually, but they don't answer my queries. I'll bloody get there!

And, if you want to try another book, one that includes a fair bit about the battle of Kohima, have a look at 'The Lushai Girl', by Roberta Forrest. Funny, that name has a curiously familiar ring to it! What, 'The Lushai Girl' is a romance ! And about an Assam regiment officer and a tribal girl! Well, aren't there any women soldiers in the British army who can read? And what about your wives?

Regards to all for Christmas and the New Year, and I'' keep you posted about bloody Lulu.
