    Old Fat and whatever...

Worse thing is the first page, and knowing that you've got about another 500 plus to go. Best thing is when your wife says: "For God's sake stop revising, you're revising it back back to what you originally wrote!" That's the time to stop, and push the baby out into the cold, harsh world. And have a couple (several) large glasses of whisky.
So, if you've got a good story, then write it. At least nowadays you don't have to worry about finding an agent and publisher. Self-publishing is reasonably easy.
Let me know if you decide to have a go..

Having seen the linky to the amazon site where it can be ordered from the US. I duly put my order in a couple of weeks ago, and today i am the very pleased owner of this excellant book which i am looking forward to re reading. It will be the 3rd copy i have owned. The first was leant out in the block sometime in the 80's and never returned, the 2nd was destroyed by my dog after he thought it would make a good chew toy in the 90's, and now this one.

Now reading it via the Kindle App on my Toshiba tab - looks good.

Is it crap as well then? I have NEVER read so much shite in my life, Chieftains was, and still is, a complete piece of utter, utter bollocks!
The role of cavalry in war is to bring style and panache to what would otherwise be just an ugly brawl.

Might be in reality - for those who were actually there, but not bad as something to read.

I will have to believe you as you are a Hussar. As a useless Scaleyback preparing to fight the Red Hoard from Catterick it seemed inspiring. And personally I think it still is. Oh well, horses for courses, tanks for ....?

Now, now, you know the rules : no fence sitting!

It is OK saying that the book is shoite, your opinion, but how about backing that up with why you think that. I have read the book, albeit many moons ago, and as someone who was a Cold War Warrior of the pedestrian kind, found it quite good.

So, back up your statement please.
