Lawrence Fox (if a bit bulkier, don't think old Flashy was so ill fed) or how about that chap that played the lead spook in, erm... Spooks recently?

Both cahps would need to dye hair though.

Rupert Penry-Jones was Adam in Spooks. Heart throb with the ladies, envy of men, could do the dashing action stuff and also handle the soppy romantic scenes..... yep, he'd be perfect!

Rupert Penry-Jones is blonde. Flashman is supposed to be dark haired. Perhaps Clive Owen?

(However Sean Bean bears no likeness to Sharpe in the books)

So hair dye, mentioned in my above quote, wouldn't work. No, we've not gotten that far in the technology stakes...

James Purefoy would be a good bet.
There's no chip on my shoulder. I'll tell you what there is though, three pips and don't you forget it.

Two votes for me, Damian Lewis - Warriors et al or Toby Stephens - Gustav Graves in Die Another Day........
