    Surprised that no one's mentioned George McDonald Fraser. Read all of the Flashman books in the summers of 1976-1978 (IIRC).

    I'm bored at work so I'll do the google thingy for you;

    From wiki:
    "Aged 69, Hollander says she "turned gay" around 1997, establishing a long-term relationship with a woman named Dia. In January 2007 she married a Dutch man 10 years her junior, Philip de Haan, in Amsterdam.
    For the past seven years she has been operating Xaviera's Happy House, a bed and breakfast within her Amsterdam home."

    I'd still do her though

    In 1970 I started to read a very obscure (believe it or not) book that I purchased from a second hand book shop,,,,,The title of the book,,,'The Lord of the Rings',parts 1/2/3,I have re read it lots of times but now the enjoyment has been ruined by a series of films that tell only half the story......

    I also bought my first pornographic novel in 1970,,'Lingerie Orgies',,still got the original on the book shelf (complete with sticky pages).....
    I can make you go Mmmmmmmmmmm all night long,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,It's called Duct Tape

    I remember a book called "I, Jan Kramer," which had quite a few of the pages stuck together.

    Papillon and the rather poor follow up, Banco
    Foryth's Day of the Jackal, The Odessa File and Dogs of War.
    The Wild Geese - still a good read today and rhodesian faction book Operation Zambezi.
    Some early Wilbur Smith's like The Dark of the Sun, Shout at the Devil and Eagle in the Sky.
    Also Waugh's Scoop, Black Mischief and Sword of Honour trilogy.
    Finally, Tom Sharpe's Riotous Assembly and Indecent Exposure.

    Sven Hassel when in Paderborn, late seventies. Seem to remember characters Old Man, Porta, Tiny and Heide, green tea and fleas yarns. And for some reason, something about them shagging corpses*. Hassel reckoned he served with the 27th Pz Rgt, 6th Panzer Division. And the books list above must have been the Cold War Warrior's fcuking library.

    Just remembered, *Blitzmadel/German civvy women service.
