Typical of jurnos, they emphasise what Adams became, linking his name with the Sinn Fein presidency. In the period described, Adams was a bar man by trade and an enforcer for the IRA before the split to PIRA. This creature spent many of his evenings smashing paving slabs onto the knees / legs of young Republicans who were deemed to be due a disciplining from their system. There were a few parents looking to top Adams, never mind MRF.

Speaking just as a no mark hat albeit with a couple of Banner tours thrown in. IF the book has some truth whilst getting the usual garnishings for effect, fair enough.
Original reaction was the title seemed OTT. Then again who the hell am I? Some of us didn't have to go about risking our necks, plenty did.

Theres a couple of holes in the story,of when they were going to kill Adams as well. However for most they wont have an idea,so it sounds good.

The author is a bona-fide gent who had an exacting and interesting military career. Don't confuse him with the 'Nemesis File' guff. I suspect that the MOD system had more than an influencing factor in this instance.

I've not seen the book as yet. Doubtless throwing fridges isn't mentioned. He did have an altercation with two Guards Independant Para lads which resulted in a career change in direction for him. Good luck to him. He's been out of the military quite a number of years as I recall. The monies earned from this tome will help top up the old age pension fund.
