OK, update.
Got a reply from Amazon - quite quick. They asked to speak to me to talk me through and to contact them through the Amazon website "Contact us" in the Kindle Page. There is a function "Call me" in which you enter your phone number and they call straight back - and they did. Marvellous service.
Young lady then talked me through the process, allowing time for my mong fingers to type on an extremely small keyboard(!) and it was the Hub key which was required, not the password!! So I put the key in - did not work! Asked to repeat and this time it connected and asked me then for the password which I entered - hey presto, all correct and connected now.
Probably the best customer service I have ever experienced. Fast, accurate, polite - what more could one ask for. (Oh and free

Good to hear it's squared away. I thought it obvious that it was asking for the HUB password (WEP key) so assume that's what you were trying.
I've heard nothing but good things about the Kindle support chaps.

So with the 3G Kindle as well as reading books you can loggon to internet sites?``Britain has invented a new missle. It`s called the civil servant-it dosen`t work and it can`t be fired``.

I have seen several references to 'rooting' the Kindle - I have a couple of questions:
1. Is it easy to do?
2. Do I void my warranty?
3. Does it effect my ability to get books from Amazon? ie will Amazon refuse to have anything to do with me if they detect I have rooted it?

The OH had hers delivered today!
Woot!!! EASY!!!
A bit of juggling to create her own Amazon account, a bit of de-registering and registering, a bit of uncertainty about how I'll download on my Mac/Amazon account and get the books onto hers ... I think I may have to have one as well
I do like the charger set-up, especially as the connections mean I can use my USA iPod charger [using the Kindle cable] to charge when we're 'over there'. Carrying assorted UK 3-pin plugs and adaptors gets to be a PITA.

OK, reading all these posts I'm deffo going to get one. I think the 3g version would be better for me living in Spain. Just a couple of questions before I take the plunge:
1. The newspaper subscription. Is the price quoted for a week, for a month, forever? Doesn't say on the Amazon site, just gives you a price to get the daily download.
2. Probably a bone question, but do the crosswords in the papers come as well? If so, do you have to print them out or is there one of those magic sticks so you can do it on the Kindle?
3. Can you transfer from one Kindle to another? If I get a 3g one, the missus will obviously want to read the books and I can see a fight breaking out on who gets it. Therefore, I could save a bit if bought the non-3g one and transfer books between the two or would I have to buy 2 x 3g ones?
Thanks in advance.I can say the name of that railway station in Wales, as well.
