I've only just today joined ARRSE and am looking forward to off-loading stuff I've had locked up within me for years, some of which I've been too embarrassed to tell others about, but know I'll get a sympathetic hearing here - well, maybe. In addition to (or partly because of?) my nickname, my early life followed a 'khaki continuum' from boy scouts (in that heady, khaki shorts and knobbly knees era) right through to army service (in those uniforms of itchy khaki serge and KDs.) So anyway, watch out - 'cos here comes 'khakiflash'! Jesus, what a f*ckin' relief it'll be! :D

After my initial blog of two days ago I now think it might be better to hang fire on letting it all out, at least until I get to know better my way around the ARRSE site. If I've been carrying around for decades a load of stuff re military service that I want to get off my chest, then it can certainly wait a bit longer, otherwise it would only be like tossing oneself off in public (which, surely, we've all done in our crazier times), but without the consolation of a fulfilling climax to have made taking the risk worthwhile. So - watch this space.....

After much farting around playing with image sizes and pixels (I'm not very adept at this computer stuff!) managed to get a shot of me - or rather, as this is AARSE, my backside - in old-style army KDs. Might change this later to wearing those itchy serge trousers that were emblematic of my era, the early 1960s, but this will do for now. Now don't get any ideas that showing my bum-end indicates any lack of respect or feeling for any visitors to this site. It only indicates an appropriate response to the site name, believe me!

I think it DOES qualify as a 'blog', TT, in that it was foremost in my mind and took a lot of time this morning how the f*ck to get my pic to be accepted on this site after half a dozen failures. So I felt a distinct feeling of achievement in finally managing it. Actually though, as it explains the choice for my profile pic I suppose some sort of similar explanation might be needed on my profile info too.
