Re: Flying soldiers documentry (1997) on DVD/VHS?
My point exactly! I wouldn't want a VHS tape right now, but VHS-Digital converters are popular (like vinyl-mp3 converters before them). All we need is someone with a good VHS copy of the series to get together with someone with a VHS-to-Digital box and access to t'internet and bingo... everyone's a winner! ;)

I guess you could consider this an appeal to such individuals, or those who know them to pass the word on...
ARRSE-Aviation seems as good a place as any to start... ;)

Is that the course that Stitch and JLC were on? If so I wouldn't mind a copy of that myself.

The senior instructor major in the film was a RMP Sgt pilot when I knew him
And to think, I had no Idea I could bring so much fun and frivolity to others

This F***h of whom you speak; would he have been RSigs, first name sounds like a dog with a hair-lip? If so I bumped into him in Lisburn as I started a desk tour in 94. Wondered why he was a tad chippy about getting chopped.

Ta, natotattie. He went to the resident Sigs unit while I was in HQNI. Despite the fact that he'd arrived four weeks before me, I escaped the portakabin overflow Mess and got a room before he did. He went apoplectic. At the bar one evening I told him the reason why he was still living like Stig of the Dump while I had a (sort of) room was because I'd actually managed to complete the APC.
Didn't press him about his missus, though. Might have been entertaining..............Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

His (ex) missus was very appealing in every way, a real looker.

Certainly wouldn't have been the first wifey to get more than her share while hubby was hard at it.

Couldn't get the link on the other page to work, but found the DVD series on TVon DVD.co.uk. A decent copy for £5.
Here's the link direct:

Good spot, dannyboy. One for the Xmas List. It'll be interesting to watch, if only to refresh some very blurred memories.

Watching it will just help you re-inforce the well held view that "if flying was difficult the REME would do it!!!!"

Flying Soldiers
Just seen the series for the first time. This was just after my vintage so brought back a lot of memories. Saw a few old faces from the past. Priceless. Best fiver I've spent in a long while.

Still waiting for the right moment to tell Madam that this is what the cat really wants to get me for Xmas. Snag is, I've also got to tell her that the painting I commissioned of a pair of Lynx over Fermanagh may be arriving about the same time.
