Does anyone else remember the sci-fi show which pretended to cut into another programme with 'live' shots of a flying saucer hovering over Trafalgar Square?

KFC might bring the F59 out oif retirement If we are not careful. As for the spaghetti trees trees. Well. Leave it on the vine and the crop is ruined!( f59 is one of those aircraft that surprised everyone. Nowonder it got pongo worried.
Haven't had an accident in years. See a lot in my rear view mirror though.

It's very unlucky to be superstitious.

Actually I couldn't have used the G-59 as it was a built later than the date of the story. I used Macchi C 202s in the end.

Bloody hell, SUU! That took some searching out. It's the Vickers 559 supersonic interceptor aircraft design.

It is, and having loaded many, many, missiles to Phantom and Tornado, I'm sort of glad it never appeared in the tin.

The only missiles I had any contact with were Matra 530s and Shafrirs. The Matras had the bad habit of failing to acquire and retain the lock and go wild and the Shafrirs usually either hung (occasionally with the motor running) or dropped without the motor igniting. It's lucky we had 30mm cannon.

Sidewinders and Sparrow/Skyflash. The Sparrow/Skyflash at 425lb was a lump to move around. The missiles on top of the Vickers look to be Red Deans at 1300lb, bet they wouldn't have the fastest aircraft to do an OTR load on.Name: reddean.jpg
