A slightly dinged MiG 29A, a Sukhoi Zero/Zero ejection seat, and I can't remeber the pilots name.

I recall that as soon as he landed he reched inside his flight suit pocket and pulled out a smoke, and then strolled off, like it was something he did everyday. He must have had fucking huge cajones!

I do remember that crash, a real test pilot he was. But unfortunately not this one. Not a MIG.

This might interest some - memoirs of a Russian Airacobra pilot:-

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Red-Star-Air...tf_362181031_9

Free download for Kindle at the moment, will be listed at £13.38 very soon.

Have to admit to having a liking for the old Airacobra - dad worked on them for a while during the war. They arrived from Uncle Sam and at an airfield near Blackpool dad led a team that jacked them up, raised the undercarriage, took the prop off, removed the wings and built a packing case around the thing with the wings beside the fuselage. Then the packing case went on a ship bound for Murmansk.... He spent a winter doing that in a hangar open at both ends with aircraft coming in one end and boxes going out the other.

Re: the CF18. It simply had to be the one with the decent paint job, didn't it?
    Fred Astaire ate my hamper!

If they should once obtain a connivance, they will press for a toleration, from thence to an equality, from an equality to a superiority, from a superiority to an extirpation of all contrary religions. John Pym 1584-1643.

I reserve the right to say what the fcuk I like. The serried ranks of headstones in Flanders, Normandy and elsewhere give me that right.
