Re: Whats this, any plane spotters in?
It's not that peculiar Whittaker thingy that hangs in a shopping centre, is it?
If it is, prize for most obscure offering in 1200 pages to INASty!
Edit - For 'thingy' read 'MW2B', which I will freely admit to having to look up.

Re: Whats this, any plane spotters in?
Cheers Archie, i can find Google references to the "Whittaker Excalibur G-BDDX" but no pictures of the obscure bugger
Resides in the Flambards park in Cornwall, apparently. I remember going there a lot as a kid when we used to surf off of the coast, i wonder if that's where i saw it??

The master strikes again.
The Whitaker MW2B Excaliber, now on display at the Trago Mills shopping centre at Newton Abbott.

I've often wondered just what the disagreement was that stopped it from flying again.

Re: Whats this, any plane spotters in?
Archie, now even I think you need to get out more! Truly obscure!!!
"I hold that it is quite wrong for the soldier to want to exercise command over the striking forces. The handling of an Air Force is a life study, and therefore the air part must be kept under Air Force command."

Re: Whats this, any plane spotters in?
Comes from hours of displacement activity in evading Strat and Pol marking, MM....
(In truth, I remembered some reference to a ducted fan type in a shopping centre from Pprune).
