Spitfire & Hurricane beuatiful aircraft.
However,
Lightning - Such a simple shape. Oh, the performance!!!"God makes me feel pain because I cheat at darts."
Shacks, pub in Krefeld where you got a Steak breakfast after being on the piss all night in CK's, 2000.
Said shortly after approaching the dartboard to retrieve his darts, violently sneezing, which caused him to headbutt the wall & then twatting his head off a wall lamp when his head came back up. The cheating cunt...............

Definitely the older planes. The Spitfire of course, it's the noise of the merlin engine that does it for me.

Re: Most Beautiful Aircraft
I always liked the Buccaneer. However, there were a few occasions when I was overjoyed to see a Skyraider.

Re: Most Beautiful Aircraft
Boringly predictable here but for me has to be Concorde and Spitfire, although I always thought the Phantom (F4) had a certain rugged charm.
Concorde and Spitfire though prime examples of if it looks right.

I have to agree with Legs. It's between the Vulcan and the Lancaster for me, but I tend to lean toward the Vulcan.

TSR2 and Avro Arrow. Even sat on the ground they looked like they were doing Mach 2.
Stupidity is like nuclear power.
It can be used for good or evil.
And you really don't want to get any on you.

Its got to be the TSR 2 as above, way ahead of it's time.
http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/tsr2/xr222.jpgI have no idea what weapons will be used in the next world war... but I do know that world war 4 will be fought with sticks and stones. A Einstein

Re: Most Beautiful Aircraft
I agree Spitfire and Hurricane
Also Concorde, Vulcan and Lancaster

However I've always thought that an F4 Phantom has certain pleasing to the eye qualities especially when taxying with both canopies up
We should remember the tremendous contribution of the Queen Mother to the war effort:
As the BBC pointed out, she 'bravely remained in London beside her husband' during the war.
This contrasts sharply with the actions of my grandfather who, on the declaration of war immediately left his wife and children and pissed off, first to France, then North Africa, Italy, France (again) and finally Germany.
The shame will always be with us.
