    Old aircraft
Classic 4 gun nose Mossie or Tiger Moth

    Mid period........Vulcan

    Current........Typhoon

Civil options have to be either Concorde or VC10

The VC10 just has such wonderful grace and goes like crap off a stick.

I agree with most about the Spitfire, Mosquito, Vulcan and Hunter.

I'd put the Sopwith Pup right up there too. It's design has a certain simple and straightforward charm to it.

Edit: It won't let me upload a pic :( Google images has some good'uns though.

The mossie has always been a firm favourite, but the sound of a spitfire at the end of a runway sets the hairs on the back of your neck on end!

    I'll go along with this.

I think it has a lot to do with when you started going to air shows - I remember 111 Sqn, the 22-Hunter loop, and the "falling leaf" manoeuvre. Happy days...
I remember 111 Squadron - have a Hunter Vid about them - were they the ones with the Black Aircraft ? (Memory ?)...and THAT Loop..!! :D

The one that takes me home looks damn good. Later versions of the Spitfire with the Griffon engine and bubble canopy look good. Condorde has a certain grace.

Nah, the best way to experience a Spitfire mounted Merlin is when it passes 200ft. overhead in a tight turn....talk about the collywobbles....Worked on one or two Spitfires during the mid-eighties...nice kite to work on too..

And here's one I made earlier........

The Major said "Milligan, how long have you been in this man's Army?" I said "About 5 foot 11 inches"
