Kiwi Army was in Greece in 1941. A Kiwi cousin if mine is still there.

So basically the radio show panel were discussing a book by an Ex Australian Army Officer and Department of Veterans Affairs historian and agreeing with what he had written. From a Noo Zild paper....
The pair were part of a panel discussing a book by former Australian army officer and Department of Veterans Affairs historian Graham Wilson last Thursday.
The book, Bully Beef and Balderdash, set out to debunk many Australian Gallipoli myths.
Mr Wilson is quoied in the Sydney Morning Herald as saying....
''We were not a disciplined fighting force like the British, or even the New Zealanders, and had an appalling discipline record,'' he told the Sydney Morning Herald.
"In terms of fighting skill, the Turks we fought at Gallipoli were much better soldiers and it wasn't until 1917 that the Australians became an effective fighting force.''
So the usual half of the story newspaper outrage bus drama.Last edited by Pitswamper; 23-04-2012 at 08:57.

I didn't make myself clear, obviously. My cousin lies in Phaleron War Cemetery, grave 8.C.4. The cemetery is about about 5 km west of Athens International airport.

I used to have a lot of banter with an aussie colleague from Brisbane, when I started on the mass murder of aboriginies he said.."thats where you're wrong mate...we weren't Australians then, we were English settlers ".... wriggling sod should have gone into politics.

How could any Australian be convicted or murdering an Aborigine, as they weren't recognised a citizens (and therefore have a legal identity) until 1967...
Shameful
