We were accepted
Thank you everyone for all your help over the last few weeks. We were accepted, as were most people i think. A lot of people not happy with the drop in rank but chin up, here's to the future and remember it's a new beginning and not an extension of what you already have! Just got to hope we get a letter between now and March.
Anyone have any idea what the % rate is, of people actually getting a formal letter after the interviews?

I believe that's all down to your trade assessment and medical. The fact that you have got through the interview means there are currently jobs available. It's now down to your qualifications and medical status.

For those who were wondering and presuming, I can confirm it is all down to the trade schools in Oz confirming where your quals fit in, if that goes well and you get your Medical report to SCMA (SL) and that is all good, then you will be good to go; but IT IS ALL DOWN TO THOSE TRADE SKILLS! Good luck to you all

Mate, the drop in pay is not as much as you think; in fact a CPLs pay is about the same as a WO2 in the POM Army; just ask any of those given a letter of intent last week - but it is more expensive in Oz so it will even itself out.
No transfer of pensions!
Spouse can work, she just cant work in a Govt office!
Service is generally open ended until 60, but you will have a Return of Service Obligation, currently 3 years! This means if you leave before this time, you may / will have to pay the Commonwealth back for expenses, this is considered case by case, but 3 years is only a posting!

Nobody will recieve a letter of offer until after ther summer hols. To recieve the letter of offer you have to of had your trade skills completed and the family medical. So don't be expecting a reply until proberly Febuary or even March.

Has anyone started the ball rolling in trying to get hold of the police certificates for character which the Immigration dept want (Any country you have lived in for 12 months or so over the last 10 years)? Or can we get away with a letter from the RMP as they deal with us not the locals? Otherwise I have got a hell of a job on!
Its hard to type when you have fingers like pigs tits!
